Hi everyone,
NCI has asked us to post on their behalf. MSE does not endorse anything posted for a company.
Hi,
My name is Laura from NCI pet insurance and I wanted to let you know that after reading this forum we’ve updated our FAQ’s page to help alleviate some of the concerns posted, please find this here http://www.ncipetinsurance.com/transferring-from-axa/faq-axa-customers/ .
It’s difficult to answer individual queries online due to data protection laws but our pet team are more than happy to take your call on 01423 535 057 or alternatively you can fill in the contact form on our website http://www.ncipetinsurance.com/about-us/contact-us/ including your full name, address and date of birth and one of our team will get back to you.
Rest assured, both NCI and AXA want to make sure the transfer process and offering customers their renewal is as seamless as possible, so please contact us if you have any queries.
Yours Sincerely
Laura Radcliffe

Hi Laura, thanks for posting
I must say that the information to customers has, so far, been awful - no-one (either side) seems to know what is going on & customers have been left worrying & in the dark
Close Bros were IMHO close to harassing me to sign the credit agreement before I'd even seen the quote!
I am currently averaging at least 1 email every 24 hours from them - which is excessive & unnecessary
NCI website is hopeless - if you put 'NCI pet insurance' into a search engine, it takes you to the main NCI website (vehicle recovery)
There is a tab 'pet insurance' on there BUT there is no contact information / a link to the pet insurance site .....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Won't come as news to any other AXA policyholders but NCI are making just about every mistake possible in handling the transition seamlessly - they come across as a bunch of rank amateurs.
I've had two emails from CBPF so far, one telling me to expect an email and the next one insisting that I sign the credit agreement within 14 days.
No sign of any policy documents from NCI.
It looks like our 4yo dog's premium is going up by 46% (£17 to £24 a month) if I assume the figure quoted in the second email is the normal monthly premium.0 -

It looks like NCI have sent the details to the finance company but have botched up sending out renewal quotes.
I wouldn't quibble at that increase from what others have been quoted.
My insurance for my 4 year old went up similarly from AXA in August.
We enjoyed cheap insurance premiums from AXA which I have not been able to match with any other company offering similr cover.
Probably the reason AXA pulled out - it was not profitable business and they reckoned it was easier to abandon ship than hike premiums and get the flak.
Many companies seem to be hiking premiums this year
The only company I have found who do not hike premiums is Petplan. Their increases are usually reasonable but they are expensive to begin with0 -
Axa increased my policy from £27 to £33 per month in August. Have just phoned the new company to see what I might expect next year and they advise my 6 year old Cockapoo's policy will be going up from £33 to £62 per month!! No Claims made for over 4 years and no ongoing conditions.Jan Grocery challenge
Budget £350 - Spent £64.45 to date0 -

You've hit it on the head!
I have managed to find cover for Maisie (dog) with the Co*op within a £ of what I was paying Axa - cover is £5k for lifetime compared to £7k with Axa / NCI
I can't take the risk & leave her until renewal with NCI as, by then, she will be 8 and Co-op (and many others) won't take her on then
Cats - strangely, they were much more expensive with the Co-op  but I have managed to get them onto a policy with Direct Line within £ of what I was paying Axa
Cover is £6k lifetime per condition which is fine for us as they are getting older anyway
I did also get a 1st year discount but even adding this on, it is substantially cheaper than NCI are quoting so looks like they'll be moving too
Mine generally go onto Accident / Injury policies when they get to the 'no drastic action' stage but I don't feel they're old enough for that yet so glad I've found alternatives - at least for the next year!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Even without the high premiums being charged the shambles NCI have made of the change over so far does not inspire confidence in their ability to deal with claims.
It really is a minefield out there.0
