Thanks MimiJane
good to know they work well, we do often recommend the use of these, however a lot of our folks get so used to reducing sugar that they are not too fond of the taste of sweet things. I will present the recipe with a choice.0 -
Off on my hols. tomorrow morning (wet Cornwall
). When I get back, I'm going to experiment with this recipe for my gluten-free hubbie, who should also steer clear of sugar. To make them extra healthy, I'm also going to have a go at substituting the margarine for smooth peanut butter, the syrup for honey, then will use gluten-free flour (which should be fine) and Xylitol sugar substitute (great for the gums/teeth).
I'll try half the amount first ... in case they're revolting!
Will report back on my "healthy" version in a couple of weeks.

Looks like a good recipe and I'd like to try it but only my granny uses ounces for baking and my scales only show grams! Any chance of a metric version please?0

no probs
I use a crafting forum that uses the same software, and links are one thing I got the hang of pretty quickly -- the other being searching a thread, but I'd already been checking out different versions to try and find the 'healthiest' I could offer younger son (17) without him realising :rolleyes2
