just had a look at trying to do a nutritional breakdown, but when it gets to the margarine it become virtually impossible to do a generic one..... there are so many types with so many different fat contents, using a different one for the calculations to the one used in the version you're eating can send the figures totally off balance !!

Thanks for trying, don't know much about this sort of thing, but how about a breakdown excluding the marg then we could add in the nutritional values from our own brand...is that a possibility at all?

I don't think it would be any easier to do that than to work your own out using all the actual ingredients you use.

Weezl uses this site, but as it's American it doesn't have exactly the same things as we use.

The alternative is to sign up for the 1 day trial on here. This is UK based, so has most of our things in the database -- and if it doesn't have the exact one you use you can (or used to be able to) add it to the database yourself using the figures on the packet.

Have tried both recipes, lovely. Warm biscuits and a cup of tea - lovely

I do these, but use half that amount of sugar, they're still lovely.

Another tip is to mix the sugar and syrup together in a pan then dissolve. This will help 'combine' the biscuit without overcooking in the oven after. Add the margarine (stork is best) to melt and then add oats.

Another nice variation - 1/2 margarine 1/2 butter as an all butter recipe is too rich in my opinion.

Well done Twink, I can't wait to see what variations Martin :money: comes up with for us.
I wonder if he will be making a batch to take into MoneySaving Towers. ;)

Do you just substitute the treacle for the syrup then?
