The chocolate dipping is a very good idea :D

I made mine huge last time DD and I made them... I got 24 from the mix :o So they were rather more cakey than biscuity, but they were delicious.

Thanks for the recipe, twink :T

24  they must have been huge, the recipe actually says they make 60 though 45-50 is more like it
  • I have been asked to make a batch of these for boyf and the lads!! They're going in a minibus to France for the weekend. Bet they don't last long!!! :p

    I've never got near 40.
Can't get myself to make the balls small enough.
They taste great whatever the size.

I always make 36 from this quantity of ingredients - three trays of 12.

I make balls based on the size of a teaspoon, and the finished articles are about the size of actual hobnobs, perhaps a tiny bit bigger.

i am so glad i now use this recipe the 3 kids and Dh go mad if there is not a tin full in the house at all times lol. know i know that i was favouring the anzacs BUT i have now come across a away where the kids have to fight me for the hobnobs ........ i started to make double the batch and freeze half of it in a sausage shape in the freezer then cutting the sausage into 8 and putting in the oven straight from frozen well now for me they are perfect they are fat and soft in the middle and i still want to eat them even if they have cooled or been in the tin for over a day lol now making more of hobnobs than i have anzacs.

so we now have 3 types of hobnob in our house
a mummy hobnob fat and chewy ( which is how i am gonna end up if i keep eating them the way i am lol)
an daddy hobnob which is a bigger normal one
and sprog hobnobs which are smaller one
    Still Trying :o
