Still really nice though!!!
My first batch were quite crunchy but they were thin ones, got about 57 out of the mixture
The last batch before yesterdays were a bit thicker and I got 41.
Yesterday I made some more but I think they may have been a bit too thick though as I only got 31 and are a bit soft in the middle but I like them that way.
We have a fan assisted oven so I cook mine at 160 degrees for 12 minutes and then check to see if they need a minute or two more.
I put one tray on the middle shelf, the other underneath and set the timer for 6 minutes then I swap them over and leave for another 6 mins.
Thanks again Twink for posting this recipe, I never thought I would get my daughter to eat porridge oats, she is a right fussy little eater.
My husband says they remind him of the flapjacks that his mum used to make when he was a kid (or they would do if they were thicker and chewier) so I have to find a decent flapjack recipe now.0 -
sb44 could you try patting the mix into a tray then i think it was 170oc for 20 mins, you could add sunflower seeds or the like or you can use honey instead of syrup, think it was arkonitebabe who did it this way first
cut into slices while warm0 -
Twinks hobnobs are now known as 'nibnobs' in our house, due to DD always misprouncing them!0

yummmeee! Just made my first batch of these - they were quite large - but I prefer them a bit chewy in the middle! First lot were slightly burnt on the bottom - stoopid oven - very hard to get the temperature right. Have eaten 3 and feel a bit sick now. eek!!!

In Tesco this morning I saw some very similar looking biscuits, made by Tate and Lyle and called Golden syrup cookies, dipped in Belgium Chocolate, and selling for £2.59 per pack - couldn't have been more than 8 biscuits in the pack!!!!!!:eek:Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Because this thread was started sooooo long ago I thought the recipe must be somewhere near the end. So after trawling through about 4 pages or more and looking at 'Twinks' posts, I then decided to start at the begining.....and its a VERY good place to start as the recipe is on the very 1st page!!! doh!!!:j0
