Made my first batch of honobs the other day, very nice. Took some them into work and they were all gone before coffee, the rest were eaten by the OH.

Many thanks for the recipe, it is sure to become a regular in my oven. :rotfl:

Yes, really tasty - and I'm not normally a baker (but that might change now)

    Thanks for the recipe, twink.
  • Made Twinks' Hobnobs yesterday, they are gorgeous and everyone loves them :D I don't think I'll be losing any weight this week now though :p

Yes I know most of you have families who scoff them as fast as you make them, but there is only me and I have a box of hobs which will take me time to get through as
I gathered that halving the recipe didn't work too well.
So what is the best way to keep them?
    Do they freeze?

If you make these a bit bigger than walnut size so they are a bit thicker they are as good as if not better than Tesco Finest range of cookies, a bit crunchy but nice and soft in the middle.

I made mostly walnut sized ones which were great until I made the thicker ones with the end of the mixture and these were superb!

I will def being making them a bit thicker next time. If I had done them all the size I started at I would have got about 68, the other way I reckon about 30.

Thanks for the recipe Twinks :T , they will def be made again in this house.

    :)

I wonder what these would be like if you soaked a few raisins in a couple of tablespoons full of rum and added these to it.

    :)

I've just made my second batch of Twinks hobnobs for my last day at work tomorrow. Though I may have eaten more than one or two  - just too good! My first batch spread out so I ended up cutting them like flapjacks, but I made these 'bite-sized' and they look like perfect hob-nobs! :j :j :j :j :j

Just wanted to say thanks to whoever it was who suggested making these with 'posh porridge'. My local Co-op always has bashed boxes of the Dorset porridge in the 'oops' section, I bought some but wasn't keen on it and it was just sat in the cupboard making me feel guilty. I made hob-nobs with it the other day and they're absolutely delicious, yummy and very fruity, so thanks for that!
