so will we be able to recognise each other now if there are a plate of hobnobs for afternoon tea or will we get a hobnob badge made
thanks for all your kind words
Your bottom being the size of a big bus will be enough of a badge I think. All that butter, sugar & oats has to go somewhere, and trust me I've seen where.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

I have made 4 lots of twinks now.....
But today is the first time I remembered to do the recipe properly
I usually forget and mix the sugar with the marg and syrup and melt it.... to day I remembered to put the sugar in with the oats and flour ... Its the first time Ive seen the bicarb do its stuff :j
They have always tasted good so it will be interesting to see the difference today... oh and I have put some chopped up dried apricots in them today too :T

hope they taste ok then Claire
just watch when adding apricots, cranberrys etc that the hobnobs dont turn out too sweet

Right the verdict..... yep you are right Twink they are sweet... will maybe cut the sugar down next time.
And the result from doing the recipe properly... a crunchier biscuit :j0 -
thats good you like them Claire, you can just tweek them yourself, i usually just add ground ginger or cinnamon to mine0

Ive tried the ginger in them, luckily I didnt put many apricots in as I didnt know what it would do to the recipe so I have some with apricots and some without :rotfl:
But they are all scrummy... My 2 yr old loves them0 -
I made a batch of these wonderful things last week and decided to try coconut in them. Did the necessary and couldn't work out why it was a very sloppy mixture - added a bit more flour and still no good. Thought oh well will cook anyway and put it in a baking dish to cut in fingers.
When I had put it in the oven I realised what I had done wrong
I had forgotten the flippin oats:eek:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
No wonder they didn't cook.
Made a second batch that was much better. And OH and I have decided that they are much nicer made with butter rather than Stork.

oh shame, glad the second lot was better, i have never tried doing it in a baking tin yet and i use whatever is in the fridge, stork or utterly butterly but dd always uses butter, think its just trial and error till you get it right for you
i leave my biscuits in the oven a little longer as i like them crunchy0 -

I have finally
1. printed the recipe
2. Bought the ingredients
