so will we be able to recognise each other now if there are a plate of hobnobs for afternoon tea or will we get a hobnob badge made :D
thanks for all your kind words

Your bottom being the size of a big bus will be enough of a badge I think. :D All that butter, sugar & oats has to go somewhere, and trust me I've seen where. :p
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I usually forget and mix the sugar with the marg and syrup and melt it.... to day I remembered to put the sugar in with the oats and flour ... Its the first time Ive seen the bicarb do its stuff :j

They have always tasted good so it will be interesting to see the difference today... oh and I have put some chopped up dried apricots in them today too :T

Ive tried the ginger in them, luckily I didnt put many apricots in as I didnt know what it would do to the recipe so I have some with apricots and some without :rotfl:

But they are all scrummy... My 2 yr old loves them :D
  • I made a batch of these wonderful things last week and decided to try coconut in them. Did the necessary and couldn't work out why it was a very sloppy mixture - added a bit more flour and still no good. Thought oh well will cook anyway and put it in a baking dish to cut in fingers.

When I had put it in the oven I realised what I had done wrong

I had forgotten the flippin oats:eek:
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    No wonder they didn't cook.

Made a second batch that was much better. And OH and I have decided that they are much nicer made with butter rather than Stork.

    byeeee all

oh shame, glad the second lot was better, i have never tried doing it in a baking tin yet and i use whatever is in the fridge, stork or utterly butterly but dd always uses butter, think its just trial and error till you get it right for you

i leave my biscuits in the oven a little longer as i like them crunchy
