Homemade hobnobs?

Hi all
Some of these variations sound wonderful. Well 2nd batch made and they are nearly gone  This time I'm the gulity one. But when OH came home and realised there was some in the house he started texting his mates to say a fresh batch was out!!
This is scary to say the least :rotfl: Mine come out quite chewy - more cookie style, but we like them like that and they really are lovely with a brew!
Did anyone imagine the thread would get this big??? That's the power of home baking - beats shop bought hands down.
EM xx
PS Can't wait to try the honey version!!!! We really are all that sad!!

my bl00dy oven!
I have a temporary cooker in at the moment, which I put in here last year when we rented our house out, as my 'real' cooker os a lovely old 1950's new word, ( a freebie from a friends elderly aunt) which bakes perfectly, and I love it and didnt want it to get damaged. However, since we returned I havent got around to swapping the cookers back again.
The modern temporary cooker is rubbish, the heat seems to come straight up from the bottom, and not circulate around. So the hob nobs were taken out a little before the 15 minutes were up as I was being careful not to overcook - the tps look perfect. I left them to cook, and the bottom are black. I am now off to scrape me biscuits - grrr!
How come my fifty odd year old well used cooker works perfectly, and this almost new thing is a heap of rubbish and ruins food on a regular basis!?!?!0 -
oh shame for you foreign correspondant, you will have to pretend its dark chocolate

Can't wait to try them
(And I'll be making them again soon I would imagine - as they're being made with a bag of oats that I found in the back of the cupboard, that are a YEAR out of dateWhat's more, while I was digging around in the cupboard to find it, out came half a packet of spaghetti which was taped shut with Safestore storage company packing tape... which means I've had it since before I moved here... 17 months ago
