Hi Twink
You have restored my faith in my cooking I just cannot cook. However I made
the hob nobs and WOW everyone pounced on them. Verdict was that they were better than the real hob nobs. Thank you thank you. Do you have
anymore like that? MoonflowerSPC £500 well will try very hard.

glad you like them moonflower, i dont bake as much now that the family have flown the nest, mostly scotch pancakes and hobnobs but if you want to bake, the book i used most is Mary Berry, Fast Cakes there are lots of recipes and the good thing is you just measure the ingredients put them in a bowl, mix and bake, you cant go wrong you can get it on amazon and it lets you look into the book so that you can copy down about three recipes, the traybakes are good0

Hi AussieLass,
Not only is she gorgeous, she is really good only waking mummy once in the night for food and just generally being a happy smiley little person.
I've made some Twinks today absolutely mouthwatering gorgeous. DH who is notoriously hard to please keeps sneaking back for more. I've now put them in a tin with a lid on!

this is the recipe i use
8oz sr flour
8oz sugar
8oz porridge oats
8oz margarine
1tbsp golden syrup
1tbsp hot water
1/2 tsp bic soda
mix flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan stir in bic soda and add to dry mix, mix well, make smallish balls and put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork, 180oc for 15 mins, cool on the tray, you just want them golden in oven not brown
Well what can I say, I managed to get 30-40 biscuits out and my two daugthers loved them, I had to try one (or 6) just to see what all the fuss was about. Wondefully simple, great fun with the kids, if we could only do something about those calories.
Thank you.Consider anything only don't cry!0 -
gld you liked them belle, never heed the calories just think how good the oats are for you and the girls
remember to just melt the marg and no more, gently in the micro is good, it doesnt want to be very hot0 -

i tried making these with sugar substitute and light flora (trying to cut out sugar :A dunno why with chrimbo just around the corner n im gonna pig out :rotfl: ), they came out ok but not quite as nice as a full on sugar hiti think im gonna have to just make them normally and try to refrain myself instead.

I made these a couple of days ago and they were great!! Very much appreciated.
I've tried looking for the old thread where everyone was talking about them, but I can't find it. What am I doing wrong?
1. I want to thank the person again who posted the recipe, and
2. I want to see if there are any variations I can make.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
