Lucy they will harden up a bit by tomorrow but next time try leaving them in the oven a couple of minutes longer, just make them the size of a walnut shell and flatten slightly

I made these for the 1st time today with my 3yr old....made a batch , divided it in half and threw in some dried cranberries and raisins ....

I managed to get 48 hobnob sized biccies out of the mixture :)...Although I have to add we dont have 48 in the tin right now :o

My 3yr old exclaimed that these are her favorite biscuits EVER!!!

    They came out perfect!

    TY Twink!!!

    Thanks twink.

I will make another batch and leave them in the oven a bit longer.

The last ones - I put into a plastic tub when cool then took them to work the next day. They were not crisper the next day, but maybe that was because they were in the plastic tub? Should I have left them out?

Regardless of the slight soggyness, they were eaten in a very short space of time by my colleagues!

think they needed longer in the oven Lucy, its a bit difficult judging when they are ready, but remember the colour they are this time and leave till they are a wee bit darker next time

Last lot i made were divided in half and half put in a plastic tub, and half put in tin. the ones in the tin were crispy but the ones in the plastic tub were softer. so this could be the reason. They are still yummy though even when soft!:p
    Nothing to declare ;)
  • my 2 dd made another batch of hobnobs last night put white choc chips in half the mix.they were fantastic.my mum came round just as they were coming out if the oven(think she smelt them):rotfl: so gave her the recipe.had phone call earlier shouting their praise.
dd1 is going to make a double batch tom night to take for her school leavers disco on tuesday.
handy tip about not using a plastic tub.

My OH and DD prefer them slightly softer so I'll keep mine in plastic :D Oh and yesterday I managed to get 80 out of one batch - I did use a small square cutter though ;) :rotfl::rotfl:

I will admit when I first tried this recipe earlier this week I was disappointed because they came out large, soft and cakey - flapjackeyish. However, I was using some of that light Omega 3 Flora nonsense.

Today I made another batch (48) but I used Clover and I put half brown/half white sugar. They came out perfectly - absolutely perfectly, they're slightly chewy in the middle, crunchy round the edges, deliciously oaty and yummy and generally lush. They filled the large round sweet tin I keep my biscuits in so will last ages (provided I don't tell OH where they are!) and will be great for feeding the visitors when baby arrives next week.

Thank you so much twink! Anzac's tomorrow, they're another longtime favourite of mine ... mmmmmmmmmyummm! :)
