Is it possible to keep the mix for these in the fridge for ~12 hours. I want to make these, but as a morning "make" and evening "bake", as I work late into the evening then come home and throw something easy into the oven, and it seems a waste to have an empty shelf in there.
I have tried doing this with cakes before, but they separate before the evening."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0 -
My recipe is now illegible due to butter etc spilling on to it.
No problem I think - and find the relevant thread. However the computers at work won't let me access is - I think it is the word which follows "Twinks" which means the fillters object!
If anyone has the time to post the recipe here I would really appreciate it - but please DO NOT USE the WORDS WHICH FOLLOW TWINKS otherwise I won't be able to access this post!0 -

Ingredients
8oz sr flour
8oz sugar
8oz porridge oats
8oz margarine
1tbsp golden syrup
1tbsp hot water
1/2 tsp bic soda
Instructions
Mix the flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan. Stir in bic soda and add to dry mix.
Then mix well and make into smallish balls which you then put on a greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork. Put in the oven at 180 degrees C for 15 mins... and cool on the tray. The aim is to get them golden in the oven not brown.DFW Nerd Club #545 Dealing With Our Debtnever attribute anything to malice which can be adequately explained by stupidity, [paranoia or ignorance] - ZTD&[cat]

I have kept the mix in the fridge (i made up a double batch baked some then had to go out-they baked fine later). I also make up the balls ready to bake and freeze them as they are, then cook from frozen-this is great as I can make some at very short notice from my freezer supply.

Why don't you paste the recipe on a word document on your computer so you can access it that way

Has anyone tried to make them with no bicarb? I would love to bake a batch but have run out of bicarb. I have baking powder and cream of tartar. Have a pile of kids round later and need to bake something quick and easy.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
