Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I'd love to make the hob nobs, but wonder if I can use the kind of sweetner you can cook with?

Can anyone help me with how sugar weights would convert to sweetner weights?

    Thank you very much

think someone has made them with sweetener but will have to search back to find out

i see i had read in Sweet magazine that you can replace every 100g sugar with 8 tbsps Splenda not sure anyone has tried doing that though

Help, just made up a batch of hobnobs with half and half peanut butter and marg after seeing that some have used peanut butter. But it is really dry and not sticking together. What do I do? Add more marg? I have someone coming round in a bit so please can you help me out quick.

    Thanks. Esther

hi, I have just made up a batch of twinks hobnob mixture substituting 4oz peanut butter for margarine as I had seen someone mention peanut butter the other day. But it is really dry, like crumble mix and not sticking together. Should I add more margarine, water or syrup or what? Help, I have someone coming in a bit, hense the need to make cookies. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks. Esther. X

i would try some more melted marg and it might be easier to press the mix into a tin like a traybake and mark it in squares when cooked and cool in the tin

    Thanks, will try that.

It would make a lovely crumble I think. Having tasted it.

I´d add a bit more water, but slowly until you feel it is the correct consistency

Thanks. I started a new thread and Twink answered and said to add more melted marg which I did but they are just a crumbled mess really although a delicious tasting crumbled mess. I think I shall use this for crumble topping tomorrow.

If anyone could advise on the right amount of peanut butter etc, id appreciate it as they do taste good but are more cakey and crumbly than biscuity.
