Ahh yes - found the recipe again. Like a long lost friend. Printed it out. Will get the stuff and be munching away all day!

Hi
Just reminded me that I haven't made these for a while. Gonna make some spiced fruit twinks later this week.
I can see an addiction coming on.:rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
I made some hobnobs last night! They were lovely. I actually only cooked half of my mix. How long do you think the rest will last for in the fridge? I wouldn't be able to freeze it would I??£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Yes they freeze very well. I usually roll them into little balls & freeze in layers in a tub separated by bits of baking paper in case they stick. You can cook them from frozen - just takes a little longer. Very easy & I love the smell of home baking if I have guests due! One tip is to slightly flatten them before freezing so there is a flat side. Otherwise it's like malteesers rolling around your baking tray!0

I freeze in a long sausage shape.
I take them out of the freezer whilst the oven is preheating, and then cut, and bake0 -
That sounds easier! I'll try that next time. Thanks0

Quick question about the hobnobs on page one (may have been asked already but dont have the time to read 103 pages!) is the 180 in a standard or fan oven?
Friend has been fetching some choc chip cookies each time she visits and would like to return the offer with something a little different.
xThe best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
I did them in a fan oven, checked the first batch way before time, and had to rescue as many as I could !!!
I've since dropped both temp and time in my fan oven - but all ovens differ anyway, so best to keep a close eye on them until you figure out best combination for yoursCheryl0 -
I wish they lasted 3 hours here, I've taken to mixing mega batches. There is a queue outside the kitchen waiting for them to come out of the oven.
They even eat them for breakfast, justifing it with, 'well they are half porridge anyway'. Sheesh!!!0 -
I have always frozen the cooked hobnob and they are just as good when they have defrostedI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order
