O-M-G!
This is so goodNot so good for my waistline
I just traybaked the 'original' (a half batch) this afternoon and scoffed about 1/3 of it. Made with butter and reduced sugar @170g, may even reduce more next time. Thanks Twinks :T:T:T
I always reduce the sugar to 6 oz (about 170g), and the biscuits are still lush, but cheaper and healthier! I have reduced a bit lower (when I ran out of sugar once, and used all that was left, think it was about 5.5 ounces) and they were still lovely.0 -
Hi, I was hoping to pick your clever brains - can I make Twinks hobnobs and freeze the uncooked dough, and will they turn out nicely at the end, does anyone know?

I freeze cookie dough all the time, just take it out a couple of hours before baking. I roll it into logs before freezing then shape after defrosting, but you can freeze in balls ready to pop straight onto a tray.
Tastes just as good as from fresh. :money:0 -
Thank you - I wanted to make some cookie dough logs to slice up for when seasonal parties start getting on top of me but wasn't sure about the oatsOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Hi Sugarspun
Someone asked the same question last night in the hobnobs thread, so I have merged this with the main thread so you can read back. The mixture will freeze fine and slice from frozen perfect
good luck

Oooh I had my first ever twinks tonight, sat down with a couple (four) a coffee and had a good cry to united 93. Just what the doctor ordered.
I put cinnamon and sultanas in mine and they are not far from those yummy oat and raisin cookies!GC 2011

Have made 2 batches this week, tonight's using value muesli - they are going down a storm. It's my first try at biscuits for a few years. I'm going to make some chocolate ones with grated chocolate next. I worked out that they cost less than £1 per batch, which is great.0

My first 'half batch' only lasted 2 days
I ate all that butter  but just couldn't resist.Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.
