Sorry to ask but has anyone made them in a remoska?
Donot have the time to look through 79 pages and I feel I must make these famous twinks now.
thanks
I did try them in the Remoska and they turned out fine, but I do tend to make them in the oven now as you can only do a few at a time in the Remoska and getting the timing right is a bit difficult - the first batch took a while but each subsequent batch was much quicker, including overcooking some, it was so easy for them to overcook once the Remoska had been in use for a while. It also means staying around the kitchen for quite a while to keep an eye on them, so my personal preference is doing them in the oven as I put a few trays in at once and they are all cooked in about 15 mins.0 -
I made these last weekend and believe it or not there are still a few left! But not for long.
I wrapped some up and gave them to my sister as a pressie and she loved them too. Next time I'll try some of the variations. What a great recipe, thanks!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Dear Twink et al
I've been making your hobnobs for over a year now and for someone with a GCSE in Home Economics and whose mother says "she just aint got it in her" - cooking skills that is....they come out lovely and disappear from the biscuit barrel in no time.
I'd like to try and make them a bit different with added ingredients (just for a change) - does anyone have any suggestions/favourites?
U will have to "speak" S-L-O-W-L-Y as the kitchen isn't really my domain
Thanks
:T
if you look back over the threads you will find some suggestions for adding to the hobnobs, dried ginger or cinnamon, crystallized ginger, dried cranberries, walnuts, coconut, sub the syrup for honey or maple syrup
these are just a few i can think of
glad everyone is still making the hobnobs and enjoying them0 -

Substituting malt extract (bought from the health shop) instead of using syrup is one of my favourites.0 -
I made half a batch of these yesterday and added 1oz of dessicated cocunut and a handful of white chocolate chips. Reduced the sugar by 1 oz. Absolutely gorgeous!!0

Twink :T I have made these today for the 1st time and I have to say they are really easy to make and they taste lovely, much better than the shop bought ones and you know what has gone into them so that's good in my book. They have the seal of approval from hubby and I will be making them again. :j0

Did you search the Remoska thread for "Hobnobs"?
When people make things in a Renoska they normal post about it in that thread, not the thread for the dish they made.0 -
I first saw this thread months ago and couldn't work out what all the fuss was about. I mean, hobnobs are ok but they're not exactly what I'd call exciting biscuits, and how much better could a homemade version really be??
Finally got around to making them today......now wondering whether I've got time to bake another batch as they're nearly gone already......0
