Had a go yesterday substituting malt extract for the syrup and they are yummy. Will definitely do this again.
Can anyone tell me what size tray do you use when doing them as a traybake and how long do you bake them for?0 -

i did see it was a lined roasting tin that was used if thats any help but not for how long0 -
Hopefully someone will come along with some timings soon. Would love to try them as a traybake as I think this could save some time over making them individually, although they don't actually take that long, if making them as a traybake saves a bit more time that would be great.0

hope so, somebody did say 20 mins at 170o but no idea the size of tin0 -
I have just measured my tray for you
Its 39cm long and 26cm wide. I'm sorry I can't convert it to inches the kids ruler only has cm's on it :rotfl:I cook on gas 4 for about 20mins until its just golden. I do, however, increase the recipe to 10oz of everything & just slightly more syrup, water & bicarb. This is because I have a big tray & four hungry children ......... remonds me of a Kenny Rogers song
:rotfl:Hope this helps. Ooh I line the tray with greaseproof/baking parchment.
Editd to add: I've just googled conversions and my tray is 15.4 inches long and 10.2 inches wide.0 -
Thanks to SunnyGirl and Twink, my next batch will be a tray bake.
Must admit I was really pleased when my son was home for Easter weekend, and his girlfriend rang him to ask if I could send some Twinks back down to London for them.0 -
Dear Twink et al
I've been making your hobnobs for over a year now and for someone with a GCSE in Home Economics and whose mother says "she just aint got it in her" - cooking skills that is....they come out lovely and disappear from the biscuit barrel in no time.
I'd like to try and make them a bit different with added ingredients (just for a change) - does anyone have any suggestions/favourites?
U will have to "speak" S-L-O-W-L-Y as the kitchen isn't really my domain
Thanks
:T0 -
Sorry to ask but has anyone made them in a remoska?
Donot have the time to look through 79 pages and I feel I must make these famous twinks now.
thanks0 -
Hi, i searched this thread for "remoska" and nothing - so i don't think so!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
