I guess some people might be surprised there is a 76 page post on a Hobnob recipe but not me. :p

Can't understand people who say they only last a day though. When I make some (between two of us) they barely last a few hours!! twink, you are not helping my fiancee's diet!! :)

I wrote a post about them on my blog - I was sure to give credit to twink for the recipe - you can see my post here - http://www.jeronimo.co.uk/2009/03/01/hob-nobbing-around/

I put in some ground ginger the last time, and they were lovely, but still prefer the original and best recipe!!:j

are you making the balls of dough too big and thick, you should get between 40 and 50 from the mix and the balls should be about walnut shell sized
you can always spread the mix in a tray for a traybake
use the soft ones crumbled into yoghurt or use to top stewed fruit

I have been meaning to make these since before Christmas lol. Finally made them today :j , WOW really nice :D . Thanks Twink! :T I made one batch, then decided that they wouldn't last 5 minutes, so made another lot :o . Also made some orange drizzle cakes to take to work tomorrow. Perfect chill time. Nothing like cooking for a bit of relaxation!

this is the recipe i use
    8oz sr flour
    8oz sugar
    8oz porridge oats
    8oz margarine
    1tbsp golden syrup
    1tbsp hot water
    1/2 tsp bic soda
mix flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan stir in bic soda and add to dry mix, mix well, make smallish balls and put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork, 180oc for 15 mins, cool on the tray, you just want them golden in oven not brown

    Hi

Silly question but what's the conversion into lbs? My weighing scales doesn't do oz :(

I have measuring cups though do you think a cup of oats, marg, sugar and sr flour would work?

I'd love to try the recipe so any help would be great
