hope you like the hobnobs sandy2 when i used the honey you could certainly taste it but i suppose it depends on the kind you use
  • ohhhhhhh these are amazing! they don't last very long in my house though, that's my only complaint!!!

I like to leave them in for an extra 2 or 3 mins -makes them very hard and crunchy yum yum yum!

I made these today for the first time and they were really nice. My b/f ate most of them. I didn't flatten the first lot enough and ended up with hobnob cake thingies (they got polished off in no time) but the second lot were perfect  I'll defo make these again, probably make some tomorrow for my Nan and Dad :D

    Thanks again.

What is the least amount of sugar that you can use to make hobnobs?

I ask because I started making these again last week when I got some cheap brown sugar and I can't stop eating the flippin' things.

I must have put a couple of pounds on during the last two weeks by just snacking on hob nobs!

I did use light brown sugar again when I made my last batch the other day and only used 7oz and they tasted fine.

Has anyone gone down to 6oz and found that they still taste ok?

i had made some biscuits but had run out of room on the baking tray, and this is how i made an amazing discovery.

the left over mixture had dried out a bit and wasn't makig nice shaped patties, so instead of wasting it i opened a tin of apple and blackberry fruits ive had on standby in the cupboard.
i put the mixture over the fruit and cooked in the oven for 15 minutes.

it was the best crumble topping i've ever had!!:j

i've had trouble not scoffing the lot.

I did that too!! lol!! made apple crumble and it was fab!!! :rotfl:

    Blimey, that's a bit extreme.

    :D

I think I may have to drop an oz each time I make some and see how they taste.

I don't like them too small or flat so although I have managed to get 56 out of one batch I prefer to get about 40, they are a bit softer, like the cookies you get from Tesco. I worked out that if I make 40 they have just under 5g of sugar in each biscuit if I use 8oz of sugar.

That equals 1 teaspoon of sugar in each biscuit!
