  • I think they should have a wealth warning - they encourage hoardes of teenagers into my house!:rotfl:

I made these a few days ago and they were just sooooooooo yummy.
Kids were delighted when they came home from school, absolutely loved them. they took some in their lunchboxes the following day.

thanks for all the lovely comments and am glad the hobnobs are being appreciated by everyone :T
  • I came across Twink's recipe a few weeks ago and they have been a great success, however I've been experimenting and found that 8 oz crushed cornflakes, instead of the oats works well - I found some of those mini cereal packets at the back of my cupboard and used them up instead of throwing them away. Also added a quarter teaspoon of dry ginger to perk up the flavour.

Today I've just used 8oz Alpen chocolate granola, which again was lurking in the cupboard and these turned out to be really scrummy.

Don't be afraid to experiment with the basic recipe.

    Part of the Furniture
This was a fav when I was little, I baked some yesterday and remembered how lovely they were and how quick and easy

    Makes 18 (ish)

    4oz Porridge Oats
    4oz Self Raising flour
    4oz Butter
    3oz Demerara sugar
    1 Dessertspoon of Golden Syrup
1 rounded teaspoon of ground ginger (I add about 1/2 a tsp extra)
    Pinch of salt
Put the butter, sugar ad syrup in a small pan and melt on a gentle heat until butter has melted and sugar dissolved. Meanwhile sift the flour into mixing bowl, stir in oats, ginger and salt.
Pour melted mixture into dry mix and stir until combined throughly. Next take small quantiies and roll into balls, lay on greased baking tray and flatten with back of spoon.
Bake on Gas 3 for about 15-20 mins. Leave to cool.:T

Hi, I just wanted to say that I have read on other threads about Twinks hobnobs but could never find the recipe. Tonight I have stumbled on it, and can't wait to try it out. Will let you know how it goes. I'm new to all this but picking up some good ideas. Thanks everyone.

Only just got round to trying out the recipe today as I've not been well plus very busy. Anyway had a friend coming today so decided to have a go. They are great. And so easy. Will definitely be making more. Thanks Twink.
