    I've been Money Tipped!
Just thought I would let you folks know that I have just made some more Hob Nobs but used some Billingtons soft cane brown sugar instead of white.

They were lovely before when I used normal white granulated but they are absolutely gorgeous using light brown sugar instead.

I only tried it as our local B&M stores are selling 500g bags of Billingtons soft brown and soft dark brown sugar for 39p a bag.

    ;)

  • Gosh! Nearly 100,000 hits on Twink's thread - well done, Twink :j:j

I really must get back to baking more Twinks. It'll help me on the "avoiding plastic for a month" challenge I'm doing too. Though, to be honest, I managed to cut out biscuits entirely for 4 months and my trousers fit properly now ... dangerous territory here :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D
  • Great, thanks for this wondered what I was gonna do witht the golden syrup and oats I had left over from making apple flapjacks

I'm sure it's in here somewhere but not sure where.

Can someone please tell me at what stage they add their chocolate chips to their mixture?

I did make some with choc in once but it melted and I don't think the chips were big enough as you couldn't really taste them. Perhaps I should have also put some cocoa powder in.

    Ta!
i add the chocolate chips after i have mixed everything together, but tend to add broken chocolate buttons as it has to be cadburyd chocolatefor me, and they do fine as long as the mix has cooled a bit before you pop them in...

  • Twink's hobnobs are very popular in my house. I made loads on Friday. I had a siesta on Sunday while OH and the boys watched the Ireland rugby game. When I got up I noticed the biscuit tin on the table and not a hobnob in sight. I need to make some today and I think I will need to hide them.
