  • Lol, Twink. My OH is not keen on my baking. But there was nothing else in the house last week and he took a hobnob of the cooling tray. He turned his nose up then tasted it and now I need to hide them from him.

i add the chocolate chips after i have mixed everything together, but tend to add broken chocolate buttons as it has to be cadburyd chocolatefor me, and they do fine as long as the mix has cooled a bit before you pop them in...

So do you flatten your hobnobs and then stick the chocolate into the top of them?

Does anyone use more than the 1 tablespoon of golden syrup in theirs?

I normally only use the one but find the mixture sometimes tends to be a bit dry.

The ones I made the other day with brown sugar tasted superb, the best yet but were really crumbly.

By the way, if yours crumble on the baking tray, don't throw the crumbs away, put them in a yoghurt, they make them just like Muller corners.

  • Made Twink's hobnobs this evening & then melted some economy Sainsbury's milk chocolate & put a drop on each hobnob when they had cooled.

sb44 i often crumble a hobnob into my yoghurt and i think it sounds like nimbo mixes the chocolate in if she is waiting for the mix to cool and my mix can be crumbly too if the butter is too hot it needs to be melted slowly and mixed in quickly

If my mix seems a bit dry I add some more water until it seems 'right' , so far it hasn't affected the way the hobnobs turn out

Same here. I nearly always have to add a little water. But make sure you just dribble it in and keep mixing till it 'binds'
