Have made these loads of times but last night DD2 baked them then spread melted chocolate over the top and left to set -OMG0

I made my first batch today - only the 3rd or 4th thing I've ever baked! I'm trying to convert to HM! They were fab! I made them with sweetner instead of sugar and next time I might add ginger. Nom Nom Nom Nom!

Oh someone asked about calories/fat. I worked out the weight watchers points on the recipe using sweetner instead of sugar and Mr A's own sunflower spread instead of butter and it is 2 WW points for 3 biscs. For non-weightwatchers that is very low. It's a good between meals snack on any healthy eating plan. Sorry edited to add that's getting 60 biscs out of that recipe.House saving Targets:

glad you all like the hobnobs and thanks for that spugzbunny the hobnobs with the oats should be quite filling too0 -
this is the recipe i use
8oz sr flour
8oz sugar
8oz porridge oats
8oz margarine
1tbsp golden syrup
1tbsp hot water
1/2 tsp bic soda
mix flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan stir in bic soda and add to dry mix, mix well, make smallish balls and put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork, 180oc for 15 mins, cool on the tray, you just want them golden in oven not brown
I have just ventured over to this forum recently as I normally just check out the freebie and competition boards - can't believe it has taken me so long:o
I'm going to make these tonight for the first time and was wondering if there are any clever MSE'rs that could tell me how many grams are in an oz so I can convert the recipe?0 -

I often make these and add some chopped crystallized ginger and they are fantastic

I made a half batch and found the mixture to be quite loose in the bowl was i mixed it together. It didn't go like a dough or anything. I had to squish it together to make the balls. Is this normal?
They still baked ok and tasted nice though lol!2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

i think it should mix together a bit better than that, did you have the fat too hot when you mixed it in? it needs to be just melted but if it baked ok then it hadnt been too bad0
