I normally use Tesco Scottish Porridge Oats for mine and they taste fine,
BUT, I made a batch last night and I used Sainsbury's Scottish Porridge Oats instead not thinking it would make any difference. I was mistaken. They taste even nicer and the price is the same as the Tesco ones too (81p kg).
If you do buy the Tesco ones, they are charging 25p for the 500g bag and 81p for the 1kg bag, no brainer really, just buy three small bags for less than the big one and get 50% more.0 -

Has anyone put cocoa powder and chocolate chips in theirs and if so when did you put the choc chips in, was it when the mixture was totally cold?0

I put choc chips in mine today and they all melted into it because of the hot butter. So i packed the mixture down into a traybake tin. They came out like brownies they were really really nice.0

Are you going to use smooth or crunchy peanut butter?
I bought some Basics Peanut Butter from Sainsbury's last week and it is really nice although VERY crunchy and it is only 69p for a 340g jar.0 -
I stuck some luxury hot chocolate in mine ladt night, they tasted ok too. Although it was not following Twinks recipe.
I folled Twinks recipe tonight and I have had 6 omg, I took a batch to house group and they were a huge hit. I think I might be making a lot more, from now on. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -

Um, just checked what I have and it's Tesco's own crunchy peanut butter. From a 454g jar, but only 1/3 left... I wonder if I could make 1/2 normal Twink's hobnobs and somehow add the peanut butter to the remaining 1/2 of the mixture. But will it be a nightmare to stir in at this stage?0 -

And Waitrose is doing 1Kg for 75p.
