Just a quick update on the Peanut Butter variety of Twink's Hobnobs; made normal ones for 2/3 of mix then added 1/3 of a jar crunchy peanut butter to the last 1/3 of the hobnob mix. Used proper cookie cutters this time and made the peanut butter ones larger so we knew which were which. Well, the verdict.... Yes, these are very yummy too!0

First off forget choc chips, they just melt.
For the very best alternative to Smartie Cookies make your own by adding a packet of smarties or m&m's (150g bag). I've also used own brand chocolate beans and they work fine too. The sugar coating stops them from melting completely and they are delicious. One word of caution though, when shaping into balls don't panic that they are crumbly, as long as they aren't messy on the baking try they will be fine.
When flattening (I use a metal spatula) make sure thay are roughly round and if you want to ensure everyone gets a couple of smarties/m&m's I recommend making them a little larger. I've also used cranberries for Christmas and they are lovely.
I'd be interested on how many hits this recipe has got. When people ask me about the biscuits I just tell them to 'google twinks hobnobs'.Consider anything only don't cry!0 -
belleabi it would be interesting to know how many people are making the hobnobs and which countries, thanks for the info on adding smarties0
