Homemade hobnobs?

Latest variation was adding 2 bananas that were about to get a bit overripe and some cinnamon. Turned out scrumptious. I have come to the conclusion that there is very little that can go wrong no matter what you seem to add. Must try the jam next time.
I would agree with this, I have to say none have ever got thrown away!
My personal favourite is with ground ginger AND chopped crystallised ginger in the mix. I think the ultimate would be half coated with plain chocolate on top of all that ginger, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. purpleivy, that does indeed work beautifully but sad to say I am keeping that variation for special days as DH almost scoffed the whole batch leaving me with 4
They were large though

I'm about to go try making these for the first time, hopefully I won't make a complete mess of the kitchen. And hopefully they'll have cooled before my brother gets back from work for lunch otherwise I won't get one (Seriously - the boy is like a locust!)

gailey, I would try dipping in chocolate, but a place not as cool as the fridge would be better. When you take things out of the fridge they get condensation on them, this would make your yummy biscuits soft! Think about it, if chocolate is hard a room temp in a bar, then it will be fine on your biccies. I will say that sometimes chocolate does seem to take a long time to set at room temp, but it will if left. The reason that they are so likely to go soft is not just the fact that there will be condensation, but also they contain sugar, which is hygroscopic (attracts water). See , blinded by science!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

that could work, i think somebody rolled the mix between cling film but i could be wrong
and i am surprised at how many variations seem to work with the hobnobs and they still come out tasting great0 -
I have tried them dipped in chocolate and they were delish. They looked great too. I dipped them and left them to set at room temperature then put them in a tupperware box in the fridge overnight as I was taking them to a friends the next day. They didn't seem to go soggy, perhaps because they were sealed in a box?0

I have just made my first batch of hobnobs, I thought I had made thm small but only got 29 out of the mixture
I had to have the oven on 150 as it tends to cook biscuits & cakes too quickly.
They are delish!!
They are ever so slightly chewy, is this because I should have made them smaller?0 -
Annie, my 1st lot were a bit chewy too. Put them back in the oven for another 5 mins, they were fab!!!!:T0
