  • im now into making my 2nd batch of these

    as the first batch lasted all of one evening !! (between 4)

    im using still the value oats and now value flour and also now value golden syrup cos the last of the good stuff went on the last batch and there just as tasty --

  • Just thought I'd add myself to the people who have made these. I used normal butter (Kerrygold) and they are fantastic. Planning to try some variations this weekend...

    i wondered about the value syrup but have some runny honey to use up first

  • I have printed the recipe and lost it so many times.

    I have lost count of the number of times I've booted up the PC and logged on to search for this particular thread, just to check that I've not forgotten anything.

    I have made these lots and lots of times (and eaten stacks of raw mixture over the months - glad to hear I'm not the only one!).

    If ever I need to boost my 'mummy/wifey' points I make a batch of these and put them into my large jar from a Lakeland sale ... we love them!

    In terms of variations, we've done chopped apricot and sultanas once or twice and drizzled chocolate over the top too. Gorgeous any which way!:T

  • I made them then got DD1 to drizzle, dunk and spread them with chocolate. Needless to say they were yummy and she wanted me to 'tell everyone on the computer' to make them with chocolate!
  • just made a batch for one of the mums at school, although they look and are delish (had to check them ;) ) they do not look as nice as the ones i made yesterday! why oh why can you never make 2 batches the same :confused: i do believe my SIL has the same problem :D so its not me being my usual dippy self:rolleyes:

    i have the same problem, ok when i do them for myself but if i want them for somebody else they dont turn out as well so no its not just you :D

    sunnygirl tell your dd1 i will have a go at dipping them in chocolate myself and well done to her for the idea
