Our buyers had an AIP before lockdown and we accepted their offer about 1 week before lockdown. With the subsequent tota halt to activities it took until 5th June for valuation to be done with the Surveyor's parting words being "it will all be straightforward". Our buyers STILL haven't apparently had their formal offer although they have provided all requested documents and have been advised verbally all is OK. Lender is NATWEST. Is this their typical delay at the moment?

We applied to Natwest on 19th June, valuation was done 25th june had our offer yesterday 30th June. So I wouldn't say that's a normal delay no.

I'm am still waiting for a decision from Natwest. Everything within the assessment stage is ticked according to their online tracking. The valuation was performed on the 24th of June. They did come back to me on Friday stating they will offer less what I need due to the service changes on my apartment. My mortgage broker responded back the same day stating I will reduce my credit card balance by a minimum of 50%. Apparently this should meet their affordability requirements and get the full amount I originally asked for. Since then I have heard nothing!
I hope you hear soon! Luckily we weren't asked any extra questions but we were told 5 working days if we were.

Same, we're 15% deposit too so I don't think that's affecting timescales. Our deposit is from savings, no gifts or anything so our bank statements prove the money is ready to go. I genuinely think it's been quick because our MA called Halifax on 22nd and verified our income and affordability over the phone with them. She really has been fantastic to work with. Are you using a broker? Maybe you could ask them to call.  The. y did say there was a backlog for booking in valuations and it depends on how busy your area is as to how soon it can be done. We just got lucky. I was very surprised to have the offer same day though, our MA told us up to 4 working days.
Yeah, we're using a broker. And he's good; I think he's trying to reassure us that everything is perfectly normal, and he's definitely told us there's no point comparing situations with other people, as no two cases are the same... I know I should listen to his advice, but I find this limbo period quite stressful, as we're excited about the prospect of the new house, but there's always the fear that things won't go to plan, and so we find ourselves trying to not get too excited... Which is difficult, and stressful!

I should probably remind myself that it's only been 2 weeks since the application was submitted, and only start to worry if we're still in this position - without any sign of progress - in another 2 weeks...
I feel same like why us? Especially when I see everyone else going through. 😞
Just heard from the Mortgage Broker that our valuation is scheduled for 6th July. So, maybe things are moving along, after all...
Thats great news! Fingers crossed you get a speedy decision afterwards.

    That sounds promising x
Thanks, fingers crossed... I assume valuation is one of the final steps before the offer gets made? We've paid the valuation fee, so I'd feel pretty hard done by if the valuation turned out okay, but underwriters didn't like our application...
Has your broker said anything? Ours told us we were approved subject to valuation. Your broker should be able to find out whether that's the last step for you.

It sounds like I won't find out until Monday at the latest. The broker told me the lack of update from Natwest since Friday is a good sign. I'll be patient and wait :)
  • Myself and partner FTB had full application submitted with 90% LTV June 15th with Nationwide. Valuation booked same day with valuation report received 19th June. Hard credit check was reportedly done on the 21st June. Not heard anything else since. They have not asked for any supporting documents whatsoever other than my latest payslip when we did the initial application which is concerning me. Feel like we are going to be waiting weeks for them to then turn around and ask for more documents and have to wait again! Anyone else waiting on Nationwide?

We are now in the same boat with nationwide, they wanted some clarity on my husbands job. After that they have still not come back. Valuation was on 21st June also was fine. Some say they can even say no at this stage, wish some luck on us guys! Waiting is just a slog.

    Hi
We are also waiting on Nationwide as well. We were notified yesterday that our application has now passed the vetting stage and was now in line to be reviewed by the underwriting team. Hoping for the best!!
  • I am waiting on Nationwide also, my application went in end of March and was approved subject to valuation and I am still waiting for this to happen. I am in Wales so it was only a couple of weeks ago the restrictions were lifted, I had a message from my broker on 23rd of June saying they hope to arrange a date for valuations by 3rd of July and we still haven't heard anything, hopefully we will get some news tomorrow!

We are also waiting on Nationwide! Took ages to get the valuation scheduled in but it’s finally going ahead today! No idea what time and how long it will take them to respond once they receive the survey. It’s very slow progress!
  • @Marleysmum how is your application going? Had to send yet another letter around this pay cheque issue and they have finally accepted it, just waiting for a valuation date now!!!
