I would hate that. If you're paying a fee you should expect to be updated regularly. I asked ours to let us know at each stage what was happening, even if there was no news. I like to be prepared and in control, so it would have been horrendous to not know what was happening.Creditfixer3021 said:

No we went through a broker. She's been fantastic through this whole process, made it relatively stress-free.Creditfixer3021 said:
Congratulations. Lots of people have heard positive news today.Almostfree said:I'm so impressed. Our valuation and survey was done today, and Halifax have sent our offer already!Did you apply directly out of interest?
i only knew about the valuation as the seller let me know0 -
Obviously, I hope this mortgage goes through. If it doesn’t I’ll use someone elseAlmostfree said:

My full application was submitted via a broker on 9th June and no further progress, things seem quite slow at Barclays at the moment.Dnrn84 said:Hi, submitted application with Barclays via broker so had hard search on aip. Aip went through so full application now in. Does the fact that the aip was a hard search mean we should get the mortgage offer?
Also does anyone have any idea of barclays timescale?
Thanks!1 -
Hey - I recently got my offer with Barclays. Timescale below:Dnrn84 said:Hi, submitted application with Barclays via broker so had hard search on aip. Aip went through so full application now in. Does the fact that the aip was a hard search mean we should get the mortgage offer?

Full Application - 9th June
Valuation - 23rd June
Valuation Approved - 25th June
Mortgage Offer - 27th June
Just waiting for the posted copy to turn up.
Mine was quite straight forward though - applying on my own so only one set of payslips etc for them to look through.
Hopefully it won't be too long for you!

Yeah, we're using a broker. And he's good; I think he's trying to reassure us that everything is perfectly normal, and he's definitely told us there's no point comparing situations with other people, as no two cases are the same... I know I should listen to his advice, but I find this limbo period quite stressful, as we're excited about the prospect of the new house, but there's always the fear that things won't go to plan, and so we find ourselves trying to not get too excited... Which is difficult, and stressful!Almostfree said:Same, we're 15% deposit too so I don't think that's affecting timescales. Our deposit is from savings, no gifts or anything so our bank statements prove the money is ready to go. I genuinely think it's been quick because our MA called Halifax on 22nd and verified our income and affordability over the phone with them. She really has been fantastic to work with. Are you using a broker? Maybe you could ask them to call. They did say there was a backlog for booking in valuations and it depends on how busy your area is as to how soon it can be done. We just got lucky. I was very surprised to have the offer same day though, our MA told us up to 4 working days.
I should probably remind myself that it's only been 2 weeks since the application was submitted, and only start to worry if we're still in this position - without any sign of progress - in another 2 weeks...1 -
I feel same like why us? Especially when I see everyone else going through. 😞thePhilster69 said:

I'm honestly so frustrated now. I wasn't too bad the last few weeks despite the incredibly long wait, but to be told yesterday that my additional documents have been sat in a queue for the last 3 weeks and nobody has even looked at them, despite whole mortgage applications being submitted and approved in the meantime, has really done me in. I'm trying so hard to be patient but my offer was accepted back in March and I'm really worried my vendor is going to get fed up of waiting and I'm going to lose my dream home.0

We have just received our offer, so happy. Out lender is Barclays and from DIP to offer it has taken around 3 and half weeks.
Good luck to you all still waiting, its a nervous wait but so worth it in the end xxx4 -

Thank you we were so anxious and became increasingly impatient thinking it would never happen. It will happen guys, although the wait is hard xxMemie said:
