I have, and I can definitely relate to the waiting being a killer!

15 June 2020 - Halifax full application + valuation fee paid

18 June 2020 - Advised by MA that it was approved subject to valuation

26 June 2020 - Documentation sent to ESurv for a desktop valuation (It's a new-build)

MA advised that on Halifax's systems the valuation is scheduled for tomorrow, so I'm hoping I'll hear something by the end of the week!

Hopefully ours follows a similar timeline. Did Halifax ask for any further documentation? Has it been a relitavely pain free (apart from the waiting) process for you?

17th June
 - Official Application & Payment for Valuation
- Hard & Soft Credit Checks Made
29th June
- Spoke to MB to see if there was any sign of valuation being arranged. Said he couldn't see anything on file, but did note that underwrites are looking at the case, so it "is being worked on". Was also told not to worry too much, and that some applications just take longer than others. 

This has not stopped me from worrying... ;P

We had our full application go in on 16th mortgage with Halifax still nothing and no valuation arranged x

Seems as though we have a long few weeks ahead of us!!

Let me know how you get on... Yes, my MA is telling me the same thing. I guess it is seeing the breadth of difference in application timeframes that makes it hard to guage. Some people have theirs accepted really quick, other applications seem to last for eternity - hopefully we are not the latter!

If it does start taking ages, are you obliged to wait for a decision or could you explore options with other lenders?

I'm so impressed. Our valuation and survey was done today, and Halifax have sent our offer already!

Just called HSBC customer services for an update, apparently, our docs are still being verified and once that has been completed, would go to the underwriter and the application status will update to "under review".  Hmmm... very different to what we were told yesterday when we called! lol so I guess we will just have to keep calling for updates!

It’s taken a couple of calls to HSBC today in order to finally find out that our decision and offer is being held up in the final stage due to them needing to physically verify our ID in branch. 

This comes after both of us have already uploaded both acceptable forms of ID a week ago... The joy...
