Yeah, especially if you only open applications for those 90% LTVs to brokers for 80 applications every morning and they have to fight to get an application submitted. My LTV is 80% and application was put in before they started doing that so I hoped it would be able to progress, but I guess having that situation on top of a reduced staff really isn't helping.Process90 said:
This is true in regards to the timescale for HSBC. They're taking a lifetime.Jamaicanmelaff said:
From what I've seen, most HSBC atm are taking anything from 2.5 weeks-ish to a month so mine is quite unusual. I think it's partly to do with being self-employed and partly to do with the fact the majority of my business is in subtitling so they may be worried how the shutdown in production will affect me down the line. So far no changes to my income, other than a bit of an increase, so it shouldn't be a problem but I wouldn't worry too much. My friend applied with her partner, both are employed, on the 8th and their application was approved last Thursday.heston2014 said:
Wow, that's making me worried now if going by your timeline and no update from HSBC yet? We've only just submitted all the documents today and was told by customer services, should get an update within 10 days. Your timeline suggests it's almost a month?Jamaicanmelaff said:Still waiting for any update at all from HSBC. No idea if they've booked or even done a valuation yet as a friend's was completely unaware they had done one digitally for her. Self-employed so hoping that is the only hold up. Application submitted May 1st, documents submitted 4th June, additional documents requested submitted 8th June and nothing since. Starting to get quite nervous now.
Our vendor wants to complete/exchange end of July.
But that's what you get when you decide that you want to be the only lender to accept applications at 90%-95% LTV.0 -
Is that quota only applicable to applications via a broker? Where did you hear that?Jamaicanmelaff said:Yeah, especially if you only open applications for those 90% LTVs to brokers for 80 applications every morning and they have to fight to get an application submitted. Yes,sorry, that quota only applies for applications through brokers. Direct applications aren’t limited. A few brokers have spoken about it a couple of times in Facebook groups I’m in. They said that essentially the application channel opens up every morning at about 7.50 - 8 a.m. and the quota runs out within minutes. They’re advising lots of people to apply direct instead.KJB_D said:

Hey! We hear different yesterday’s that we’ve had our valuation booked in for tomorrow and SBS have asked us for a few more details which we provided yesterday and should take a day or two to be looked at. Have you been able to track your application on SBS mortgage tracker?josie01234 said:Hi I’m still waiting too. Nothing from Skipton in over 2 weeks since application was received. No updates. No news is good news I guess!0 -
Got my offer from HSBC today! Such a relief.

Well, I just had an update from my broker. They’ve chased HSBC about my application and were told that the information/additional documents I sent back on the 8th are still in the underwriting queue waiting to be assessed. I think this has to be because I’m self-employed though because I know people who’ve submitted full applications and received offers during that time frame.0
