Surely the lender would cancel the valuation if you failed the underwriting (if not it’s a waste of money if they don’t charge you a fee)clm187 said:I just hope that if we’ve got this far down the line it’s good news. You’d think if we’d failed something they would make us aware immediately!
part of me is hoping not to see my broker call till the 14th or later (despite really wanting some reassurance)
ive paid a lot of money in solicitor fees, deposits etc, I’d be gutted if was all wasted0 -
Ah the fatal error! that's what we got on the first application and we were advised to submit a new application. My husband also had problems with his log in details. We have been able to get through to Customer Services every time we called, average 10 minutes waiting time and the issue with the first application is still not resolved. Every time we log in, it's showing as the default application and we've called 3 times about it, they reassured us that it's been cancelled and the correct application is in the system. We were told that the application is under review with underwriters now that we have uploaded the requirements this morning. We were also advised to contact the underwriting team for any updates but should hear within 10 days. I don't know whether or not we should now instruct solicitor to do their searches whilst we wait for mortgage decision.adierei said:
That sounds stressful. We had a problem with our online log in details and kept being told different things by HSBC (one of those things was a fatal error) but it seems ok. Did they give you any indication of timeframe?heston2014 said:adierei said:
I think the hard search is automatic rather than by a person. We had hard searches before underwriting and then 4 soft searches about 3 days before we got our offer subject to val.heston2014 said:Hi,
Submitted an application to HSBC yesterday, but unfortunately, had missed one of main expenditure on the form. It went to “Decision obtained” and full credit check, I tried updating it but there was a fatal error on the online application. So I rang customer services and was advised to submit a new application and first one would be cancelled. Did that and it’s gone to “Decision obtained” status again. Solicitor and valuation option provided, but as it’s a joint application, under “who’s applying”, it’s showing my husband’s status as “awaiting details”.We haven’t received any request to upload documents yet, I’m confused why it’s showing “Decision obtained” AND “Awaiting details”.
My husband is going to log in to check his details, in case something’s holding things up.
Why would it say “Decision obtained” at this stage?I can also see two hard search on my credit file from the two applications yesterday. So not sure what to make of it, as surely, no one has looked at our application that quickly?
The details for the second applicant come through the post (we applied on a Thursday and they came on the Monday). The second applicant then has to ring and activate their details. Once that happened, our application went from decision obtained to application under review.
Had to ring HSBC on Saturday to reconfirm my husband's details, our first application had to be cancelled due to a fatal error. The second application required confirmation again as it's a joint application. Today, we received a link to upload documentation. So far, latest payslips, proof of bonus and pension contributions were asked to be provided.adierei said:

So our timeline so far:
23/05 - DIP obtained
26/06 - Offer accepted on house
26/06 - Full application submitted twice due to an error, two hard searches showing on credit file
27/06 - Confirmed joint applicant details
29/06 - Received email with link for uploading our documentation
Waiting for the next step, keeping everything crossed.I’ve not had word on a valuation yet, a bit less stressed now that we’ve been approved subject to valuation but just want it done and dusted as I will find things to worry about until we’ve moved in!Hope you’re not waiting too long
The documents we were asked to provide was latest payslip, proof of pension and bonus e.g. P60s.
Apparently, it can take up to 10 days for documents/application to underwritten and we were advised to chase up after 10 days if no update received. So, the next two weeks will be hellish waiting for an update.
How long did it take from' application to approve subject to valuation' stage?
and did the status of your application update at each stage?
Currently, ours says “Decision obtained”. Did yours progress from this to “Under review” > “Approved subject to valuation” or “Offer”?

Unfortunately, if only some lenders had the same thinking, we’ve gone through the whole process a couple of years ago on a different mortgage application, met all the criteria, was “approved subject to valuation”, and lender rejected us after 4 weeks. So I’m afraid, it’s not always clear cut, some lenders can drag their heels on applications (they certainly did with ours) only to turn around with a NO. Luckily, we were able to get valuation and booking fee refunded, but again, not all lenders would give money back. Our case was complex due to the property criteria, and our broker at the time have explained our case from the outset to the lender. But of course, it’s at the discretion of lenders whether to lend or not. So no news is not always good news unfortunately, just keep chasing up for an update.clm187 said:I just hope that if we’ve got this far down the line it’s good news. I’m really not sure that chasing up does much. Way I see it is that each application is just a number in a pile and they get to it when they get to it.0

My fella says that too hahaProcess90 said:I’m really not sure that chasing up does much. Way I see it is that each application is just a number in a pile and they get to it when they get to it.1 -
Your probably right there, I think it does more to appease the caller and put their mind at rest that they’ve done something to follow it up.Process90 said:I’m really not sure that chasing up does much. Valuation today. Surveyor called to say the bank (Halifax) would have the results this afternoon. Hoping for a speedy decision and offer. Anyone know Halifax's current timescales from valuation to offer?1

In the same position as you! Awaiting payslips to be reviewed! Our valuation has all been done too! Xxbethanyjade92 said:Hi, been looking through all the posts, nervously awaiting a decision from NatWest....
22/6 full application submitted
24/6 valuation
25/6 valuation report received
We are both employed, the only pending arrows are for our payslips! Fingers crossed to hear back soon! Anyone else currently waiting for a decision from NatWest?
Valuation 25/6/20
And now just waiting! Our broker today has said they're waiting to review payslips. I haven't had the tracker details though so no idea where on the scale we are!1 -
As a self employed creative... I’m having to provide even more details. My Broker has informed me that his broker friends are struggling to get anyone through who’s SE and in the creative industry.... Of the hair that’s left, I won’t have any until this is all gone through... Gulp!Always find comparables. You can ask, but you won’t always get what you want.
