Can I ask why people are worried through the mortgage application process? Is it your credit rating? The valuation? Or just the unknown?0

Hoping to hear back today. It is 3 weeks on Monday since we put the application in, and were given an approximation of 2 weeks to hear back. Found out on Wednesday that the additional documents the Mortgage advisor sent in last week were not the ones they asked for and she only just realised. So fingers crossed they stick to their 48 hour turnaround time on those now correct additional documents and we hear back today!0

Honestly, for me it's just the wait and the unknown. My credit is fine and my affordability shouldn't be a problem, but I'm self-employed and even though my business has been running fine I'm worried they're going to find a reason to reject my application anyway. Add that on top of seeing other people's applications (though probably employed tbf) go through without a hitch within a couple of weeks makes a now 4-week wait for my additional documents to be assessed torture. But my offer was accepted back in March and I've already had to switch brokers, increase my deposit and try for a new deal cos the first application was never submitted properly and that deal no longer exists, so I'm worried my seller is going to give up and pull the sale.Steve_KCS said:Can I ask why people are worried through the mortgage application process?
