Just to add that in my head I know it will take longer than an application from an employed person/people atm due to extra underwriting so I am expecting some delays, it's just the length of those delays that are causing me to worry.0

HSBC'ers FYI:
I called the 'underwriting' services number that we were given earlier in the week (0345 603 0171), the lovely chap I spoke to was really clear and helpful. Apparently, there has been a change in their process for handling enquiries through this number - it isn't actually the underwriter whom applicants would be speaking to by calling the number. The way I see it it's like a 'customer services' for the underwriting team where they can check the status of an application including any notes on the file from the underwriters, if any.
Our application is still in the queue to be assessed by an underwriter and the timeline is 7 days from documents being uploaded AND case forwarded for assessment i.e. underwriting queue. Within the 7 days, there should be an update either status of application, queries or additional documentation required. If no update after 7 days, to contact them again by which they have a process to manually expedite applications, should this be the case.
So, we now have to wait until Monday for an update and follow up again if still no update.
Hope this helps fellow HSBC applicants anxiously waiting for updates. I never thought I'd say this but Monday cannot come any sooner! lol0 -
I am awaiting mortgage offer from Skipton and super nervous. We have been given DIP. I am self employed (woohoo - not) and partner is in permanent job. We are both around 34k mark and 72% LTV. Putting 100k deposit on 365k house and borrowing rest from the bank. We have gone through brokers due my self employment status and been back and forth providing responses to everything about my business (re: covid, grants & schemes and future plans). I've had a CCJ quite a few years ago that's been satisfied and we have some small debt that's been paid off regularly.I've been told valuation has been instructed and guessing that it'll take them two weeks (as advised on their website) to get back to us.
i just can't stop worrying - what if they say no 😫 this would be our future home and I just hate the waiting0 -
Submitted my application to halifax through a broker on the 8th of june (seems forever ago now) the latest for me is that it is at the underwriting stage. Hoping I hear something soon, goodluck to anyone still waiting for there offer and congratulations on anyone who has received theres.

In the same boat, submission was 27th June... the waiting drives me mad. Especially when I'm already paying for legals/contracts etc

Hey everyone! Nervous first time buyer here as well. Sole buyer, full application submitted 30/06 with Santander through a highly recommended broker. 15% deposit, borrowing 102k with a 36k annual salary. Extremely nervous as I am linked to my parents address on credit files as well as my current rental property, I've updated everything over six months ago but it still shows me as linked. Santander came back today checking what three direct debits were for (car finance, house insurance and rent). Will be a lonnggg weekend!1

18 days and now want business bank statement I can’t help thinking it would be more efficient if they just asked for everything up front 🙄0

grrrr1
