  • Hi,
Long time stalker of the boards. Me and soon to be Mrs Super_Rover reserved a new build home (our first home) on the outskirts of Glasgow last month. Full application for mortgage with Skipton Building Society submitted yesterday via broker. Emails and texts received today confirming Skipton have accepted the case and valuation instructed. Valuation taking place next Tuesday.
  • I take my hat off to all of you that have been going through this for weeks/ months.

I am in the process of 90% LTV with HSBC. We have been submitted all supporting documents and the status is now "manual referral", standard survey is booked in for tomorrow, so keeping everything crossed!!
     How was your experience?
  • Hey! An update on our end from the broker r.e our Halifax mortgage (submitted last Wednesday)
'We have just gone back to the builder to see if a valuation has been booked, everything else looks to have been agreed'
Does that mean as long as the valuation is all good then they will approve??? Will there need to be more underwriting?

@KJB_D we went with a mortgage broker and to be honest wish we’d done it ourselves because they didn’t make the experience very pleasant.
    Timeline:
Put full application in 27th May along with statements, new work contract, SA302s. Got asked for p60 on 29th May. Valuation on the 3rd June. Had various soft searches done 6th June. Waited, got told it’d be a few more days chased a few times, asked for more statements and things about my new job last Thursday and mortgage offer given to us yesterday.

That's great news, what do you mean by accepted? I've been waiting since 12th June for Skipton. No news yet.

I find it so much better to get things done myself sometimes!! My partner used to be a mortgage broker so luckily we could cut the middle man. HSBC has moved relatively quickly with ours (submitted last Thursday, valuation tomorrow) but for any documents etc that they need, I have to call to find out - they say they will email but they never do! Just hoping that it is plain sailing from here on out, they are pretty good when I go to chase them, but I am incredibly impatient!
Congratulations on your mortgage offer, you must be so relieved and ready to celebrate!!

After over 6 long weeks I’ve had a text from HSBC to say my offer documents are on the way by email.
Sadly no email yet though, does anybody know how long the email usually takes to come through? Hoping they’re offering us the full amount requested!

Natwest tracker just updated to say our valuation is back and waiting for assessment. Although word from BM is that the case is still with senior underwriter and there is a 4/5 day timescale on this (was 2/3 day last week) Im trying to use logic and say to myself they wouldnt go through all this if it wasnt a postive case.

Does the tick mark against everything mean they are happy with it or that it just means its been looked at?
