So, for those of you who have applications with HSBC after a long three and a half weeks we have finally got our mortgage offer. Hurrah!Good luck to those of you just joined the sitting and waiting game, I hope you won’t have to wait as long.@caw379 and @lizhd, as I know you’re with HSBC literally just over 3 and a half weeks and ours wasn’t a clear cut case. Hopefully you’ll hear back this week 😊
We will be three weeks on Tuesday - had further searchs pop up on Saturday from HSBC which would fit with the timeline of looking at the documents we submitted 5 days previous, so I'm hoping we will hear soon!
Good luck with the rest of your purchase @yelaro
Thank you! I can finally get excited 😊1 -
I'm one of the really lucky ones! I'm a translator/subtitler, so with everyone being stuck home watching TV there's been lots of demand and loads of rush jobs, so if anything the only way I've been affected is trying to fit it all in. It's bound to slow down a bit in future though after all the production stops, but hopefully I'll be well past the mortgage approval process by then. I've set aside a year's mortgage payments just in case anyway.yelaro said:
As long as you can show you haven’t been affected or that you have gotten back to pre covid trading they seem to be ok with that. We just had to send them most recent statements. I hope you hear back very soon 😊Jamaicanmelaff said:
I'm so glad to see someone waiting on HSBC say this. Mine has been in since 1st May, had to wait to show submit docs 'cause increased my deposit to 20% so submitted those on the 4th June, they requested extra docs on the 8th June (self-employed so they wanted proof business is still running and not affected by Covid plus statements for any foreign or business accounts) and nothing since! I was getting so antsy cos I had the offer accepted on the property just before lockdown so I didn't want my seller to think I was messing around. Spoke to the EA this morning though and they're in no rush so now just a waiting game panicking that my application will be denied just because I'm self-employed or some other random reason even though affordability shouldn't be an issue! Fingers crossed it comes soon. Congratulations to you!yelaro said:Hellooooo!!

Have you had any 'hard' searches? We had soft searches fairly soon after we submitted our application, but nothing since. We haven't been asked for further info either. I think we had 5 soft searches of various types done in the 2 days post application.caw379 said:

Question
as mentioned on Saturday, I’ve been reading through this forum with great interest. Why do lenders conduct so many searches during the underwriting process? I’ve seen some people say they’ve had loads in a space of a few days, surely once they’ve run a hard search, it gives them all the info they need? And why run soft searched after a hard search?
so far I’ve only had a soft search on my AIP and a hard search on my full application (Friday). Nothing today bar a request for proof my personal and company accounts tax has been paid0 -
No doesn’t look like we had any hard searches, all soft and all early June.lizhd said:

@lizhd we have only had soft searches, each time is shortly after we have submitted new info to them. We only got asked for further info cus there were some errors made from the advisor's side and cus I'm on a fixed-term contract.
@Creditfixer3021 I get the sense that each bank does it differently and never do what makes sense to anyone else, so its hard to comment!!1 -
Any update on this ?Kiwistrawb1990 said:Meeeee!! Has anyone applied to Natwest recently? Any idea of timescales and processes etc? AIP and full application through our broker on Friday. Hard search showing on credit report from Friday too0 -
Hiiiiii, valuation is being done today, natwest requested our payslips yesterday which our broker submitted the same day. Still no idea if it's been approved, the anxiety is unreal. Haven't had anymore searches.Kambucha said:

I'm in this position. Valuation done yesterday no other requests for info as of yet. App went in on the 11th. Hard search on the 12th and another follow up soft search on the 18th. Told on the 16th it was assessed by underwriting team and and needed review by underwriting manager due to self employed status which is standard. Could do with hearing some info today.Kiwistrawb1990 said:
