Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Hi! Well I hope this gives you more hope. My broker has emailed me. She has spoken to Halifax this morning and we have been approved subject to valuation! I am genuinely thrilled to have gotten this far, and very impressed at how quickly this has all happened! Don't have a valuation date yet but I'm positive there won't be any problems with this so it's all a matter of paperwork. Solicitors have been instructed and fees paid for searches, just waiting for our vendors solicitors to send the draft contract apparently.thePhilster69 said:@Almostfree Your application timetable is very similar to ours. Full application was made (and valuation fee paid) Wed 17th June, and Credit Karma shows 2 x Hard Credit Searches on the same day, as well as 2x Soft Credit Searches (1 for affordability) on the 18th.
TBH, I wasn't expecting to hear back from Halifax for a few weeks (hence the nervousness) so the fact that your broker thinks you might heard back this week on progress gives me a bit of hope!
It'll be completion day before we know it!1 -
I hope you get as speedy a decision as we have. Finger crossed for you.1

Hellooooo!!
So, for those of you who have applications with HSBC after a long three and a half weeks we have finally got our mortgage offer. Hurrah!Good luck to those of you just joined the sitting and waiting game, I hope you won’t have to wait as long.@caw379 and @lizhd, as I know you’re with HSBC literally just over 3 and a half weeks and ours wasn’t a clear cut case. Hopefully you’ll hear back this week 😊4 -
We applied to Halifax on 15/3, first hard searches done on 17/3 and then nothing until another hard search last week. MA says nobody will speak to him from Halifax so he can't update us. Can we chase directly with Halifax?! MA messed up already with a different mortgage so worried we're not getting the full story. So long to wait for news!0

I'm so glad to see someone waiting on HSBC say this. Mine has been in since 1st May, had to wait to show submit docs 'cause increased my deposit to 20% so submitted those on the 4th June, they requested extra docs on the 8th June (self-employed so they wanted proof business is still running and not affected by Covid plus statements for any foreign or business accounts) and nothing since! I was getting so antsy cos I had the offer accepted on the property just before lockdown so I didn't want my seller to think I was messing around. Spoke to the EA this morning though and they're in no rush so now just a waiting game panicking that my application will be denied just because I'm self-employed or some other random reason even though affordability shouldn't be an issue! Fingers crossed it comes soon. Congratulations to you!yelaro said:Hellooooo!!

We will be three weeks on Tuesday - had further searchs pop up on Saturday from HSBC which would fit with the timeline of looking at the documents we submitted 5 days previous, so I'm hoping we will hear soon!
Good luck with the rest of your purchase @yelaro1 -

As long as you can show you haven’t been affected or that you have gotten back to pre covid trading they seem to be ok with that. We just had to send them most recent statements. I hope you hear back very soon 😊Jamaicanmelaff said:
