  • So after some back and forth with Halifax about the letter from my employer, they finally accepted it.

The valuation was done yesterday, 10/02 and we got our mortgage offer today! I'm so pleased! We've exchanged contracts with Persimmon so we just need to wait on the house being finished now!
Well done ! I am in exact same boat as you but waiting on mortgage offer . Valuation done last thursday but received a copy today in post from surveyor but no word from Halifax as yet .
Could I ask , did you receive your valuation by post and then the offer or did you get the offer as soon as valuer had been to the site ?

The valuation was done yesterday and we had out offer this morning. I would call whoever you're dealing with and chase it up.
  • Halifax got back to the broker with the valuation tonight. They've valued it as £80,000 so £2,000 under what I'm paying. Ive had to go into a higher ltv bracket with just a 2 year fix. Im not really bothered anymore i just want a mortgage and in 2 years i wont have a ccj and ill be in a permanent likely full time position by then.

Just waiting for offer now i think! Don't wanna get too confident after yesterday’s wobble.

    Good luck to everyone else

FTB. Buying on my own. Offer on a house accepted. Full application for mortgage should have been submitted today via broker. Bricking it... Nervous as hell.  :s  send good luck my way !!!
  • Its awful isn't it 100weight i don't think I've slept properly for weeks and I'm working a night shift tonight so I probably won’t sleep properly tomorrow day waiting for an email or phonecall. My broker has been fantastic but I feel a bit powerless not being in control myself as I usually do everything myself.

I am in the EXACT same boat mate. Also working a night shift and won't be sleeping tomorrow for the same reason. I've done everything I can. It's all in someone else's hands and that's no good for my health ha ha!

Can I ask out of curiosity, if you are using a mortgage broker are you waiting for the broker to call/email you with an update or are you actively calling the broker to check on the status etc.?
