  • Okay, thank you, that's good to hear. Yes, was just a basic valuation (We're getting a full survey done independently). I think obsessively reading this thread and seeing people who had their offers through on the same day as their valuation has skewed my perception somewhat!
  • I’m on the same timeline as you. Last Monday my full application went in. I only know they did a hard search on Tuesday because I have every credit app (credit karma, Experian etc. It’s only showing on credit karma as being done) letter from surveyors that was instructed by Halifax came Friday to sign . Heard nothing else. But they say no news is good news as this stage.

We put our mortgage in to Skipton on January 24th, had an AIP straight away, full application in that afternoon, a valuation on 6th feb, sent a declaration form in on 11th Feb  now waiting to hear from them. I know it doesn't happen overnight but has anyone had any dealings with Skipton? And any timelines? I've read different things about them and made us even more anxious 😣 our homebuyers is booked for tomorrow.

    #UPDATE
Had a survey done on Friday, got an email on Saturday with the report in (all good) but still waiting on to hear anything for the mortgage itself 🤷  our broker has told us to hold off paying the solicitor until Skipton offer us the mortgage/acceptance.  Anxious isn't the word.

Just to chime in. I submitted my application on Thursday 13th Feb. Got told today, that the valuation wont be until Monday 24th Feb because Halifax are inundated with mortgage applications apparently!!  :(

I think they send the “ job “ to local surveyors.
My MB did say Halifax are a bit slow at the moment too. So that’s fits with what they told you then .

Yeah. I'm pretty annoyed and frustrated by it, as I need a quick transaction. Means everything is delayed by 1 week. Two years ago, Halifax done it for me within 2 days.

My broker said if Halifax do it by 2pm on Monday, I may get my mortgage offer on that same day. Worst case Tuesday.

I thought this was quite quick ,although I’ve not purchased for ages only sold so I can’t really remember how long it should take.
its always been solicitor that held it up for me.

update valuation came back 15k less than what we need and as its a shared ownership property and we are buying 40% so it means we may have to make up the 6k ourselves privately, our only hope is that the valuer did not include the fact it has a parking space and have gone back to the valuers (countrywide) to see if they will take this in to account and change anything has any mortgage brokers had any success with this or any advice on what i should do
