Great to see that they are issuing the offer quickly after valuation. Falls in line with what my broker said.

I'm going mad waiting for my valuation on Monday.  :s
  • Thrilled to be joining this thread! Me and my partner are FTB's and *hope* and *pray* that our first dream house is weeks away...
    13/02 - Offer accepted
14/02 - Mortgage broker lines up recommended mortgage
16/02 - AIP comes back fine
17/02 - Full application sent via broker
19/02 - Credit check registered on file
We've gone through L & C who have been excellent with us thus far. Clydesdale Bank is our lender. I have an outstanding loan and credit cards which worry me but with the AIP coming back fine and a mortgage broker recommending this, we hope everything will go ok! I'm comfortably paying the debts down and the potential mortgage repayments have come back as affordable through the brokers checks and we've been 100% up front and clear.

Fingers crossed for good news soon!!

Remortgaging an owned property for a 2nd BTL (hopefully):
    11/02 - Application submitted
14/02 - Application approved subject to valuation
    18/02 - Valuation took place
    18/02 - Remortgage offer approved
Waiting for Enact now to send welcome pack via email.
Has anyone dealt with Enact before? I see 80% positive reviews, 20% bad ones on TrustPilot.
Mortgage broker said welcome pack will be sent via email within 7 days of approval (by 25/02 or hopefully before then).
If you used Enact do you remember how many days did it take you to actually receive the welcome pack?

    Hi All

First time poster here! I've submitted an application to platform through a broker and here is the time line so far:

15/01/19 - submitted the application with all documents
    17/01/19 - valuation ordered
22/01/19 - letter of explanation requested

We've chased our broker about what's happening on the 25/01/2019 and he said it's gone to a "senior underwriter" for review and he's spoken to the BDM to chase the senior underwriter.

We're so stressed out waiting to hear something back from them and I was wondering what the timeliness have been for anyone that's dealt with platform previously. I hate waiting around with no updates .
    How did you get on?

Just to chime in. I submitted my application on Thursday 13th Feb. Got told today, that the valuation wont be until Monday 24th Feb because Halifax are inundated with mortgage applications apparently!!  :(

I think they send the “ job “ to local surveyors.
My MB did say Halifax are a bit slow at the moment too. So that’s fits with what they told you then .
Yeah. I'm pretty annoyed and frustrated by it, as I need a quick transaction. Means everything is delayed by 1 week. Two years ago, Halifax done it for me within 2 days.

My broker said if Halifax do it by 2pm on Monday, I may get my mortgage offer on that same day. Worst case Tuesday.
My broker called yesterday, survey was done yesterday apparently. Awaiting report but he said it ithey reported to Halifax immediately. It’s been undervalued by 3k as needs work. Don’t get know details.

This means you get £3k less loan and need to pay an extra £3k equity upfront, right?

My valuation was £2000 lower than the purchase price (also with halifax E-Surv) I had the choice of pay the £2000 or go up to a higher LTV and higher interest. I increased my LTV from 85-87% as it was easier than finding £2000 the mortgage was approved and I got my survey letter in the post 2 days later.
    Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
Mortgage ends Aug 2050 MFW: Aug 2027
    Current Balance: £58,678
    MFW2020 #156 £723.13
    MFW2021 #26 £1184.71
    MFW2022 #11 £197.87
    MFW2023 £785
    MFW 2024 £528.15

    Determined to make it!

Apparently there is some work that needs doing. My guess is on wall with plastered over chimney needs treating as some damp spots . Hopefully it’s nothing major.  Just got to wait till they send it for me to look at. I’m having an 85% LTV so it will only affect my deposit rather than mortgage I think

I think they are still lending me the mortgage amount as I’m 85% LTV. I’m guessing I have to haggle the 3k of work out of my deposit
