I would like to join you all.....
Dip mid Jan and made offer on house
Offer rejected so higher offer made
Offer accepted on 23rd Jan with condition that house will be left on market to look for asking price.
Monday 27th Jan call from EA to say higher offer been made.
Offered asking price
Call back to say it has been increased again so do I want to offer more.... I said no as I didn't want to go higher than I can happily afford.
Monday 3rd Feb viewed another house.... Offer made later that day and rejected so offered full asking price... Accepted!!
All solicitors bits have been submitted so far
Broker says full application went in on 6th Feb and valuation instructed.
7th Feb more bank statements required for the solicitor to check on deposit sources and broker was going to send them but they didn't so I sent them.
The lender is Kent reliance and I'm so nervous about everything falling through as I have already paid nearly £1000 which we won't get back.
Anyone else with Kent reliance recently that can give me ideas on waiting times?

I needed to appoint a solicitor to get the house off the market. Annoying thing is the agents didn’t tell me that they needed this info and the dip on my acceptance of offer call. Then they emailed to ask information about my partner like could you not have asked that in the phone callMortgage free wannabe

As a silent viewer of the thread ive learnt a lot so I thought I would share our experience:
47k and 9.5k respective salaries, 3.5k cc debt and in and out of agreed OD for the last couple of months with the odd gambling transaction...so I wasnt feeling optimistic!
16/01 meeting with broker and AIP for 200k
23/01 offer of 220k made and accepted for an ideal house (OH impatient!)
31/01 mortgage application submitted with notts building society, 14k deposit lending 206k
05/02 underwriters request proof of previous address and instruct valuation
10/02 mortgage offer confirmed!
I was genuinely terrified throughout the whole application and fully expected to have it rejected due to bank statements/gambling/debt! Advice to anyone worried about the whole process is to just relax, a good broker who fills you with confidence helps a lot!
Now on to the solicitors to do their bit...

Well my heart is sunk right now... had a call from the broker who have said Halifax aren't happy with my payslips as I had xmas off work so got bad pay 2 weeks in January. Absolutely gutted doesn't even cut it. She said it’s probably wise to cancel the valuation as its not looking good.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

I get paid weekly so I've sent her my latest and they should all be consistent now. Ive explained it was just Christmas. And she said she’ll try and get it based on my tax credit and child benefit income.
The annoying thing is i have a permanent job for me in the job that I do anyway. It just takes NHS Hr months to do anything. I just feel like no matter how hard i try it goes tits upMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

28th Jan - Documents submitted to Natwest.
29th Jan - Natwest would only lend 85%LTV.
30th Jan - DIP with Principality.
5th Feb - Full mortgage application submitted to Principality via brother for 95% LTV.
5th Feb - EA called to say Principality instructed for valuation for 12th Feb.
6th Feb - Documents sent time Principality.
Fingers crossed & every minute seems so long. I’m constantly looking at my phone.
6th Feb - received fixture and fittings from solicitor.
7th Feb - principality asked for original passports. Sent in to broker on the same day.
10th Feb - Broker submitted the passport and solicitors requested for searches.
Really hope for some good news after Natwest not approving us for the amount we want🙈0 -
Well survey has just been done after me sending extra info to Halifax via broker. Still a bag of nerves. Surveyor said I should be ok getting the £83k valuation. Guess I'm just waiting a call or email off the broker now for the next steps.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Has anyone ever heard of an application being delayed because the lender doesn't have confirmation of council tax?
Barclays are (according to my broker) stalling because of this. It's a 1 bedroom flat so realistically it will be either band A or B. We've taken the council tax costs for these bands from the council's website and sent them to Barclays but apparently that's not good enough...….
Thinking maybe the broker has messed up somewhere. The property is a new-build and isn't finished yet so it obviously will not have a council tax banding allocated yet!!!

HopefulBuyer said:Spoke to our mortgage broker today and they're going to instruct the valuation. They've been trying to speak to the site (Persimmon) today but they're closed so will try tomorrow. Halifax haven't confirmed receipt of the letter from my employer do MB is going to chase that tomorrow. Also had to send further proof of deposit so done that tonight,
We've also concluded conditional missives with Persimmon too. Just need to get my mortgage offer on the table! Hopefully won't be too long :j
The valuation was done yesterday, 10/02 and we got our mortgage offer today! I'm so pleased! We've exchanged contracts with Persimmon so we just need to wait on the house being finished now!0
