I got an AIP through the broker on Monday 3/2/20 so one baby step closer...

I was expecting them to get back to me today with the products but nothing came as yet so I'm sat here extremely nervous! Want the full application in asap as every week is another £100 rent.

Woo, finally got my mortgage offer! For the full amount. So relieved. Just realising now there’s so much more to do to complete the house sale. So the distractions aren’t over yet. But finally beginning to enjoy this
  • Valuation day today with Halifax. New build and spoke to builder yesterday. They are expecting them between 11:00 and 14:00 today. CML form is ready for the surveyor too.

Anyone know how long it typically takes for the surveyor to submit valuation to Halifax & for them to sign off? Case Manager has already confirmed to the broker that everything is signed off subject to valuation being satisfactory.

I'd love to know late today/early tomorrow that valuation is good so that it's just a matter of waiting for the offer to arrive in the post.

I'd be interested in the above too. We've just submitted our full application to Halifax, and are in the checks stage. We are having a homebuyers report through them, so the valuer will be arranging to visit the property in the coming week or so I am led to believe. This is at the moment just one nervous wait after another!

Our first payment came out today - happy hunting everyone!
  • Our timeline so far:

We are not first time buyers. Sold our house last October & have been in rented since.

    9th Jan - house viewed.
11th Jan - offer put forward to vendors. Initially rejected but told we can not up our offer.
13th Jan - same offer accepted.
    15th Jan - instructed broker & solicitors.
27th Jan - full mortgage application submitted to Natwest via broker for 95% LTV.
28th Jan - Documents submitted to Natwest.
29th Jan - Natwest would only lend 85%LTV.
30th Jan - DIP with Principality.
5th Feb - Full mortgage application submitted to Principality via brother for 95% LTV.
5th Feb - EA called to say Principality instructed for valuation for 12th Feb.
6th Feb - Documents sent time Principality.

Fingers crossed & every minute seems so long. I’m constantly looking at my phone.
  • Remortgage and transfer the other 50% of equity to me.
75% LTV (hoping my estimation is accurate) as well as trying to shave 2 years off by reducing it to 24 years.

03/02 - Full mortgage application through a broker to Natwest

Heard nothing else since. The waiting game is real.. :worried:

Today full application submitted to Halifax via a broker and valuation booked for Tuesday 11/02/2020. Hope it doesn't fall through at this point because I'm starting to get excited!

Approved dip via phoneon Monday but had to do it again on Wednesday in branch as they missed some details. We were awaiting an acceptance of our offer so couldn’t fully submit but large amount of the paperwork is done. Just need to wait for appointment to submit application. It’s awkward with me working full time during branch opening hours but luckily got some time off soon.

Survey is paid for and awaiting that to be done. Legal side is assigned waiting to hear more about that.

They haven’t taken it off the market yet as it was near closing time when I got all that sorted.

Sncjw well done. Its super stressful isn't it. Im using a broker but was in work yesterday whilst they were doing my full application and had to answer a tonne of questions. I hope the vendors take it off the market for you asap.

I haven’t assigned a solicitor yet as the broker said not to appoint anyone until the mortgage is sorted.
