Now let the solicitor stress commence!

I instructed the solicitor today and got her out off office until Monday lol. I dout very much the will have the paperwork before! I’m assuming the mortgage company will send the paperwork to them :rotfl::rotfl:

We should keep updating. Our case is quite straight forward, transfer of equity no searches or anything like that. Just redeem old account and take out new account!
  • I phoned halifax today for an update as my case has been in underwriting for 2 days now. I was told the reason it went in was because i was approved for 140k when i applied for 160k.. Our earnings show 160k but im just wondering did the computer maybe not pick up on our cars @ £4.500 per year x 4.5 as my business pays for them and they knew that when agreeing mip?

We found out 2moro but would asvise asap if possible.
  • Am so jealous of all of you getting your offers :( I appear to be on the longest wait for mortgage offer ever.

    Viewed house 17th November 2018
Offer accepted verbally pending some documents 20th November
    Offer formally accepted 3rd december
mortgage application submitted 14th december (2nd attempt, as broker messed up first one - found a mortgage that wasnt going to be suitable)
    valuation 19th december
mortgage company started underwriting properly on 14th january (we had to wait for my partners bank to change his address for proof of ID - he moved into my house end of November, bank took 3 attempts to change it)
mortgage company came back with questions 21st Jan, 25th Jan, 7th Feb
All of solicitor side is done, just waiting for mortgage offer.

Every time we give them the information they ask for they come back with more questions.

Getting really fed up now, especially as I have the estate agent and solicitor ringing me every other day for an update and some of the questions the mortgage company are asking they could have asked back in December (questions about our wage slips):mad::mad:

    Second Anniversary
    Hi,

I am waiting for a mortgage offer from Barclays and the wait is killing me!! This is my timeline so far:

    DIP: 01/02/19
Full application submitted through broker: 04/02/19
    Valuation booked: 05/02/19
    Valuation took place: 07/02/19

I am a bit surprised that no hard check has been made yet... Only a soft check when I did the DIP...
So stressful! Anyone has any experience with Barclays recently?
    Good luck to everyone!

I'm honestly so amazed at how quickly this has happened, we were quite prepared to be waiting weeks before hearing about our mortgage either being approved/declined. 😁🏡
  • And theyve come back with another request today, back to another 2 day wait
  • Good luck to you.
  • The sofa is on finance has not started yet because we are not in our home. Would this affect my mortgage completion and do halifax do another credit check? Can anyone help me out please

We had an offer accepted on a house on 13th jan and have had our mortgage approved subject to valuation. There's where the problems have started. A full structural survey or structural engineer's report was requested. This has been done. Now a drains report has been requested! Our chain want to exchange in 2 weeks (less than 6 weeks since our offer was accepted!).
  • Hello everyone - can I join in the fun?

    First time buyer here.
    Timeline:
    Offer accepted 29th January.
Mortgage application put in via broker on 30th January.
First mortgage declined on valuation. 2 bed flat is part of a local authority housing building, so the lenders will not consider lending on the property AT ALL! Decided to try another mortgage company which has a history of being more flexible with the properties they will lend on (says mortgage advisor...). Valuation booked for the 20th. If this bank declines, it’ll be back to the viewings for me :(
:T Hopeful first time buyer in 2019 :T
