Thank you!
I did think so... so I have them all prepared. My partner had a payrise in November (and it also included backpayment for september and october) so the payslips are a bit confusing but I have them all prepared just in case.
I also started self-employment at end of financial year 2016-2017 so the income for that year is quite low and when they average it they only really end up taking less than half my actual income, but she checked affordability and it passed, so Fingers crossed!
The complicated scenario is the main reason I went with L&C and so far I'm happy with them, but I have to wait for the final outcome0 -
The wait is excruciating indeed! I delayed getting it all sorted due to some sad personal circumstances and my January payment was £225 more than usual 🤦🏻!♀️ I expect February will be the same which is making life very difficult for me.
Let’s hope we both complete ASAP!
Offer received on Saturday! Surprisingly quick turnaround of about a week and a half.0 -
We're still right at the very beginning of the process, which is incredibly frustrating!
09/01 - initial chat with Barclays Mortgage Adviser
11/01 - full application completed over the telephone, credit check run, no issues, waiting to go over to underwriters after adviser has checked the application
15/01 - highlighted that passport of one applicant is needed in branch (provided 16/01)
18/01 - due to submit full application (unable to complete due to work load)
19/01 - due to submit full application (unable to due to system error)
21/01 - due to submit full application (still unable to due to system error)
We're now almost 14 days into the process and our application still has not been submitted to the underwriters. Starting to wish we'd gone via a broker (too late now, as Barclays have carried out the hard credit check).
The adviser has been really lovely but I'm starting to get a bit frustrated. When applying for my previous mortgage with Halifax it was an hour long face to face appointment, a couple of days for the valuation and then all systems go. This seems incredibly long-winded!0 -
Hi All
First time poster here! I've submitted an application to platform through a broker and here is the time line so far:
15/01/19 - submitted the application with all documents
17/01/19 - valuation ordered
22/01/19 - letter of explanation requested
We've chased our broker about what's happening on the 25/01/2019 and he said it's gone to a "senior underwriter" for review and he's spoken to the BDM to chase the senior underwriter.
We're so stressed out waiting to hear something back from them and I was wondering what the timeliness have been for anyone that's dealt with platform previously. I hate waiting around with no updates .0 -
Hi all,
First time poster here!! Also first time buyers.
We got our AIP and offered on our dream home the same day 18/01, and then our mortgage application was submitted to Halifax through a broker on Friday 25/01. Feeling so nervous!! I’ve read a few people saying it takes 8-10 days, so I feel like it’s going to be a really long week this week!! 0 -
Hi, First time poster here. Our DIP with Nationwide has been referred due to address according to Broker. has anyone had any recent experiences with Nationwide in this matter?0

Hello everyone
Long time dipping in and out of forums here but not a poster. Thought I’d join in here 😀
9/1/19 - application started with L&C, asked to provide evidence of change of name
10/1/19 - application submitted to Barclays in the morning, decision in principle arrived in the afternoon
11/1/19 - email advising of mortgage offer
11/1/19 - letter from Barclays solicitors to authorise them to proceed
If anyone has any idea how long from here to completion, please let me know 🙂
It seems a long time but in essence, it has been quick. The hardest part has been getting a reception figure into Optima Legal’s (Barclays - new mortgage company’s solicitor) system from Halifax’s (old mortgage company) system. Following a week of calls and chasing, I have been advised today it has all been revived and signed off. So the end of the timeline is:
29/1/19 advised completion date
1/2/19 completion 👏🏼👏🏼0 -
Finally joining the thread! Here’s my timeline so far!
9/01/2019 - First offer made on house - declined
16/01/2019 - Second offer made - declined, buyer playing hardball!
18/01/2019 - Third & final offer made, accepted!
18/01/2019 - Appointed broker
19/01/2019 - Posted all relevant information to broker (received 21/01/19)
23/01/2019 - Full mortgage application made & passed credit checks
23/01/2019 - Lender requested further info (proof of address as original docs sent in maiden name - we’ve recently got married)
24/01/2019 - Lender requested bank statement for December for partner (one I sent only showed 1/2 of December) & why queried I have only been on electoral roll at my current address since March 2018 which is incorrect!! I’ve been on since 2016!!
28/01/2019 - Contacted council for proof of being registered on electoral roll who sent info back same day
28/01/2019 - Sent info to broker & estate agent confirmed valuation booked for tomorrow.
29/01/2019 - Valuation complete & sent to broker!!
Just waiting for next steps & hoping to get the offer in the next few days!!! The waiting has been nerve wrecking but has only been 4 working days since application - hoping to hear back tomorrow!!!0 -
Good news! Got our offer today!
So from application 23/01/19 to offer 31/01/19!
Here’s to the next hurdle!!!
Good luck everyone0 -
Congratulations Bruce26!
My timeline is as follows
18th contacted L&C DIP with natwest given
19th full application submitted. 3 months payslips was all I initially required
21st 3 more months payslips requested, my last p60 and proof of address
23rd all of the above submitted.
28th online tracker showing as valuation booked (I'm in Scotland and the home report was only done 4 weeks ago. Contacted natwest who said the home report which was originally done by D M Hall is being sent to their surveyor countrywide to transcribe into their own format)
Still waiting to hear back. I'm going to call again today and see if there's any movement as it seems to be taking far longer than some of the other posters on here.
Anyone any ideas about the home report being transcribed/ how long it takes?0
