  • Survey went well, they just had one question about something on my payslip (it's my company pension but it wasn't clear!) so they said I should hear back with (hopefully) an offer on Friday :)!

I just got the email to tell me it's all gone to plan and I have my mortgage offer - woohoo! :j
  • Hi has anyone had experience using melton building society?
I submitted a full application for SO mortgage (via broker) early last week and still haven't heard anything..not sure if that's good or bad?

Mortgage with Accord, 85%LTV, we've already sold our previous house and are aiming to complete on 5th October. Ambitious

7/9 Offer on house officially accepted (Scotland) and I cry because the broker's on holiday
11/9 Agree a product with broker
12/9 Submit application which is then referred
    13/9 AIP from Accord
    14/9 Documentation requested
18/9 All documentation received by broker. Moment of panic due to my employment situation but broker gets Accord to agree to an exception

So it's in their hands now. We've got 17 days to do this - hopefully the worst is behind us. Just want the offer so I can relax and book a van!

I do think there have been points where things could have become unstuck but between my broker being switched on and us doing plenty research I'm hoping we have preempted any potential disasters. Just watch, now I've said that I'll be back here eating my words next week!

Our valuation was booked for today. Its a stressful time. We submitted on the 10th. Can underwriters do their stuff in a week? (10th - 17th)

My valuation has been received back and all okay the start of this week.

Now I have no idea what else they're checking as they've had all my documents since the 04/09. How many checks can there be? Haha

I'm in the same boat Lews.
I had initially imagined all the checks would have been done before the valuation. Valuation done on Monday 17th. Not heard anything since.

Same here.. I was under the impression that the valuation was the very last thing. I've seen other posters here mention they receive a mortgage offer the same day as the valuation. I'm with M&S who I think are somehow linked with HSBC so not sure how quick they are normally.

Fingers crossed we both get the offer we want soon though!
  • AIP - 11th Sep
    Mortgage application - 12th Sep
    Valuation instructed - 12 Sep
Valuation - booked for 28th September!

Anyone know with principality how soon after valuation you get offer docs?

Exactly my thinking. I too have seen folk who have gotten the offer withing a few days of the valuation or at the very least have had the valuations done just before the offer given. (valuation being the last thing as you mentioned). Obviously it will differ for everyone but you'd imagine/hope they would have checked everything before sending someone out to value the property. We doing it via a broker through Barclays.

    Hope we hear soon.

Not 100% sure on generic timescales.

However our valuation was done on 17th Sept and haven't heard anything back yet.
  • First time buyer!

    05-09-18 - DIP/AIP given.
    06-09-18 - Reserved new build.
10-09-18 - Broker submitted barclays full application.
13-09-18 - Message to say valuation was booked for 17-09.
    17-09-18 - Valuation complete.
18-09-18 - Barclays have received valuation.

I just spoke to Barclays for an update - they have advised they received the valuation on 18-09-18 but are waiting on some docs from our broker.

I actually thought these were already sent.
