    First time buyer!

    05-09-18 - DIP/AIP given.
    06-09-18 - Reserved new build
10-09-18 - Broker submitted barclys full application
As of : 12-09-18 - Not heard anything

    Nerves are overwhelming.

Just spoke to the broker who says with barclays it can take a few weeks. Its only been 3 days and i'm already pulling my hair out

Anyone else have experience with Barclays as a FTB and could elaborate on their timescales?
  • I’m waiting on my application too but with M&S not Barclays.

I submitted my full application on the 04/09 and my valuation was on Monday 10/09.

8 days in and I’ve just reconfirmed to myself how impatient I can be cause this waiting for an answer is driving me mad.

Tell me about it - its nerve wracking
Is this your first mortgage too?

Good luck, Hope you hear soon
  • I'm waiting on my Nationwide mortgage too, first time buyer and quite nervous! -
    29/08 - DIP issued
    06/09 - Mortgage application submitted
    12/09 - Valuation survey

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the survey today!

Survey went well, they just had one question about something on my payslip (it's my company pension but it wasn't clear!) so they said I should hear back with (hopefully) an offer on Friday :)!

    Fingers crossed
  • Yes first mortgage for me also.

I’ve been told should have an answer by the end of the week. Tbh I can’t see any reason it shouldn’t be an offer but still the waiting for that full confirmation is bugging me.

We're the same, application went through via broker on 10-09-18 - not heard anything. Dont see why we wouldnt get an offer as financially we now have little outgoings - approx 5% of our monthly take home pay. Last few months however have been getting stuff paid - which is my worry. Although clear credit file (apart from credit card that was paid off in July.)

Been waiting ages as underwriters trying to verify my spouse's income but ...
    AIP - 05/08
    Val - 10/08
    Legals started 14/08
    Property details - 15/08
    Mortgage Deed - 22/08

Still waiting for the mortgage offer! Hopefully once income has been verified, will get the offer shortly after and can complete before October.
Current Debt (excluding mortgage) - £7,020
    Reducing £450/ month.
  • I'm hoping at the very least the timescales are similar to barclys.
Where the valuation around a week after full application submission.

    This wait is mental.
