Just heard from our broker and the building society are hoping to issue the offer today. Even though they had all documents at the beginning of last week.
Debt free as of 7.20am on 31st December 2012.

    Wow. Feels great :j

Still waiting for my Natwest mortgage offer. My valuation was done on the 11th July, two weeks ago today. Was originally told it would be 3 working days after that. That changed to "end of business Friday". On Friday I was told Monday, then at the end of the day that changed to Weds. Wednesday day came and went yesterday. Still nothing.

are you going thru a broker? I see a few threads on here where due to some miscommunication the bank are awaiting some further documents but neither the broker or lendee know so its stuck in limbo. Worth checking to see if they are waiting anything else.

Yeah using a broker. Believe me, I have quadruple-checked. Everything is fine, and I was even told it was posted out on Monday. I just haven't had it yet, nor has my broker sent me the pdf confirmation she says she's still waiting for. V frustrating as it's holding everything up.

Yep, I can completely agree. We were told our mortgage agreement that we needed to sign had been sent on a Tuesday. Rung them the following Monday to tell them it hadn't arrived, and they admitted they had never sent it. They posted it that day, and funnily enough it arrived the next morning!! Amazing what happens when you actually post things...

I hope you get your offer through soon Moonraker. I'm worried that we will inevitably get the same sort of delays during the valuation stage, and we told the vendor that we could complete quickly as FTB's more than a month ago...

Can I ask how quickly your valuation was instructed?

Thanks Jessica. It is so annoying.
My valuation took 3 weeks to be instructed. (But I'm in the south east where apparently there are delays).
  • Similar situation!

We are just moving home and are currently dealing with Scottish Widows.

Agreed in principle start of last week.
    Underwritten on thurs by underwriter.
    Survey done on friday.
They got our documents on Friday that they required to prove what we said on application was true...

Even though the underwriter has said everything is OK, its still nerve wracking waiting for the final decision!

Just got 2 texts from Naitonwide. First one to say they have received a satisfactory valuation report, and the second to say they have issued a formal mortgage offer :j

    So happy!

So far this is my timeline:

    13th July AIP
    17th July offer accepted
18th July full mortgage application via broker
20th July survey booking confirmation received
    24th July survey carried out
25th July valuation satisfactory and mortgage approved :T

I can't believe it has gone so smoothly and quickly for us. I was really worried about being rejected but there has been no difficulties with this at all.

Moonraker your situation sounds very frustrating. I hope it all goes ok.

Good luck to everyone else waiting. My case is proof that it can happen quicker than expected.
  • Here's a good one...

13th June - Offer on property accepted, Solicitors appointed
19th June - Decision in principle received
20th June - Application made to Halifax
21st June - Payslips sent to Halifax
    3rd July - Valuation completed (Halifax/Colleys)
11th July - Searches and enquiries instructed, work ongoing

    All going swimmingly, until...

20th July - Still no offer received from Halifax. Upon chasing, our Solicitors have been suspended from Halifax's panel, with Halifax insisting we need to appoint new Solicitors and start over again. Interestingly, had Halifax issued the mortgage offer they would have let us complete without changing. We asked Halifax why the mortgage offer hadn't been sent already, they said they were still waiting for our payslips and the valuation to be carried out. After politely reminding Halifax they had our payslips four weeks ago and helpfully offering them a copy of their own three-week-old valuation, they still refused to budge and so...

22nd July - New Solicitors appointed, back to square one with them...
25th July - Mortgage offer sent out by Halifax

Awaiting the mortgage offer through the post and our new Solicitors to start the ball rolling again. Our financial advisor said this hadn't happened to him in 30 years - must feel bad because the original Solicitors were his recommendation, but he wasn't to know they'd get struck off.

    Looking forward to completion!! :)
