Well exactly 1 month from mortgage application and we seem to be 1 step forwards and 2 steps back.
    20/4/18 offer accepted
    24/4/18 mortgage application submitted
    27/4/18 more documents requested
    8/5/18 valuation complete
15/5/18 more documents requested to back up document sent on 27/4/18
24/5/18 1.00pm MA called, underwriter is questioning partners income as his profit has doubled (self employed) expect a call from underwriter. 4.00pm called for underwriter but he's gone home early :wall:

They're ready to issue an offer but nitpicking every little detail.

Hopefully we'll hear something tomorrow as I don't think I can manage waiting until after bank holiday!

My valuation and survey was done yesterday. Apparently mortgage valuation goes to lender, they should have got it yesterday afternoon. Apparently I should get survey results next week.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

I suppose it's time to throw my hat in the ring. FTB with my partner. Purchasing a new build with help to buy.

    12/05/18 Reserved property
16/05/18 2 year fix DIP from Natwest via L&C broker. Partner and I decided 5 year fix would be better
23/05/18 Received 5 year fix DIP from Natwest via Broker.
25/05/18 Broker submitted application to Natwest. Payslips sent at this point.

    The wait begins...

Finally got text/e-mail confirmation of our mortgage offer from Santander :j very happy!

    Our timeline looked like:

    16/04: Bid accepted
    24/04: DIP from Santander
    26/04: Full application submited
    26/04: Valuation requested
    27/04: Passed to underwriting
4/05: Further info on statements requested
    8/05: Back to underwriters
    15/05: Application approved
    15/05: Valuation received
    16/05: Undervalued on valuation
17/05: Spoke to vendors, offer renegotiated and resubmitted
    18/05: Passed back to underwriters
    24/05: Application agreed for valuation
    25/05: Application offered

All in all a stressful month, but finally sorted! Good luck to everyone else waiting :T

And for those of you with adverse credit: we managed an offer despite me having three missed payments (minimal amounts) in the last 12 months and payday loan usage in the last twelve months. This is a 95% LTV mortgage. So there is hope on the high street!

    FTB buying alone through nationwide.

    Wednesday 16th May:
    1. 1.5 hour application phone call with mortgage consultant
    2. Application submitted
    3. Valuation booked for Friday 18th May

    Friday 18th May:
    1. Estate agent confirms that valuation has taken place

    Monday 21st May:
    1. Call nationwide as documents should have been initially reviewed. They say that they are working a day behind usual timescales.
    2. Initial review completed and text stating that application has been passed to underwriters.

    Tuesday 22nd May:
    1. Call nationwide to see how long for underwriting; they say they are working on a 3 day turn around and that it will be completed by COB on Thursday

    Thursday 24th May:
    1. Call nationwide to see whether my application has been underwritten; they say not yet and that the underwriters work until 8pm.

    Friday 25th May:
    1. Call nationwide first thing to see whether it has been underwritten, which it hasn’t. Ask to speak with senior advisor as I had been told by a number of people at nationwide that it would be underwritten on Thursday. Abdul (Senior Advsior, very helpful!) escalates my application and it gets underwritten within the next couple of hours.
    2. Valuation has been received and will be reviewed within 3 working days.
    3. Application has been underwritten and is satisfactory

So now just waiting for the valuation to be reviewed and will hopefully have my offer by the middle of next week fingers crossed!

Currently waiting for a decision from Barclays:

09/05 Offer accepted on a 1 bed with Help to Buy
16/05 Full application submitted (found out this morning hard search was done on this day which is great!)
17/05 Barclays want additional info like proof of deposit, held up slightly as awaiting 2018/19 LISA bonus
18/05 Help to Buy Application submitted
24/05 HTB come back to say error on on Sales Memorandum so needed to get that fixed, resubmitted on Friday (I hope, mortgage advisor slightly annoying and slow)
25/05 Alert email from Barclays that they have requested the valuation

Until this morning I had no idea if the credit check had been done - I was really nervous about it not going through or something but checked my report and it was done on the say of application and they wouldn't be bothering with the valuation if I hadn't passed that so feeling a lot more confident about the process!

Hopefully get the offer within the next week or so!

We have applied for a shared ownership mortgage with Leeds bs.

    02/05/18 DIP
16/05/18 broker sent all documents to Leeds.
18/05/18 I can see a credit check has been done by leeds.
22/05/18 Ring Leeds as our broker isn't replying to emails and I was stressing after reading how long Leeds take and what a pain they can be and Leeds said it's been to the underwriter and everything's been ticked off? and a valuation had been instructed for 26/05/18 (Friday just gone)

We have been told we should know by next Friday.

If it's been to the underwriter and everything has been ticked off and they instructed the valuation I'm hoping it's going to work out ok.
