Not sure how Coventry BS work, but we had a soft search at AIP stage (Santander) and then a hard search as soon as the application was submitted, then passed to underwriters for further checks.

If you've had a hard check done once i can't imagine one being done again. It does usually go to the underwriters for a look over though.

Thank you for your response, we have this afternoon received our mortgage offer, I'm so happy! :D Good luck with yours if you haven't yet received!

    We are still waiting for Nationwide to get the mortgage offer out! The valuation happened a week ago!! !!!55357;!!!56875;

This week feels like the slowest week to ever! I!!!8217;ve just chased Allen and Harris, been told they now want proof of funds for deposit which is fine and clearing of debt.....we have never been told this, I have £600 on a credit card and husband has £200 on one. We clear it at the end of every month. !!!55357;!!!56865; if we had been told this 2 months ago we would have not spent on them and made sure they were clear. Apparently sometimes they will offer and mortgage with conditions, anyone else ever had this?! I!!!8217;m so annoyed as sellers wanted to complete 2nd weekend of June. That!!!8217;s not going to happen now.

Starting to regret even deciding to buy a house. Never mind the fact we have been paying £800 rent for the past 11 years. !!!55357;!!!56852;.

Does anyone else wish away the weekends whilst waiting on a mortgage offer? We're waiting for our final document to be sent out as the mortgage lender requested this then they'll issue the mortgage offer. I've been stalking the postman all week and nothing has come! We did send the document in an email version on the 27/4/18 and it took for our MA to chase for an update on the 14/5/18 for them to say they need a hard copy! If they'd have requested this earlier we would have had offer by now!

I know that feeling Chanlf, I am a FTB living at home and my mum would text me saying no post today, no post, woo you have post and I'd be wishing the day away to go home and nab it!

Buying a house does make you into a crazy control freak I find.... Maybe it's just me! :rotfl:

Hi guys, we are currently waiting on our decision from Virgin. it is currently with the underwriters, valuation all done and fine. they then requested proof that the credit cards i said i would clear before the mortgage starts were done. so i cleared the cards 2k worth and MA sent in the proof.

my wife is now worried that they could still reject us. surely this would be wrong if they make us pay off 2k worth of debt and then still say no afterwards? any advice would be great.
  • Mrsbase we are both waiting on nationwide. Here is our timeline
16th April had our DIP from nationwide
17th April put the deposit down on our plot as advised by the broker.
18th April pay slips and bank statements sent
19th April all paperwork sent to help to buy
24th April text from nationwide to say they had received our application
24th April phone call from broker to say that nationwide were questioning address on my partners pay slips. This was explained and accepted.
25th April text from nationwide to say our valuation had been booked for the 10th May. (Disappointed this was so far off but didn't question it as we are clueless first time buyers)
30th April get another text to say valuation was being carried out today. (Get excited as this is more realistic)
31st April call broker to see if valuation was done yesterday, get told no booked in for the 10th May.called our builder just incase to be told no booked for 10th May:mad: called nationwide direct who informed me that it had been done yesterday :j they inform me that we will hear something within 3 days.
3rd May text from nationwide to say they had received our valuation followed by another to say they had approved the valuation. Call the broker to inform them.
Waited and waited and heard nothing
8th May called the broker for an update to be told she is off on annual leave but not to worry. They call me back to inform me that help to buy had found a ccj on my partners file (completely unaware) and that it would need to be paid before they would approve. At this stage I am fuming that this wasn't highlighted weeks ago to enable us to sort it. After numerous phone calls we ended up paying £496 on a £268 debt for a parking ticket that had gone to the wrong address. Anyway paid and receipt sent to help to buy.
9th May broker called to say that it had been received and accepted and we would hear from nationwide and help to buy within 5 days.
11th May got our notice to proceed from help to buy and our mortgage offer from Nationwide was imminent.
15th May called broker to ask should we instruct solicitors as we have been given a date of June for the new build to be ready. Advised yes go ahead. (Bit reluctant without our offer as we don't want to lose the fees)
    18th May instructed solicitors
    Still nothing from nationwide.....
I have stalked these pages daily and seen others apply and complete within a much shorter timescale.
It's so hard not to get anxious and stressed when it is taking so long. Ours appears to be quite backward when it should have been quite straightforward. What do I do when next week comes and goes again with no news? I honestly don't know how much more I can take and feel helpless with the waiting game :(
  • Hi,
I was wondering if anyone who has used NatWest can help?
We completed our mortgage application last Monday with our broker and Natwest have taken money on Friday (the amount the broker said they would) but we have had no contact from Natwest. Is this normal?

We're only at the start of this process and it's already stressing me out! haha :)

05/03/2018 - Offer accepted on the house
    06/03/2018 - Mortgage application started with L&C
After many questions back and forth over identification/proof of addresses...
30/04/2018 - Mortgage offer from Barclays
Even further delays with renegotiation on our buyer, freehold share problems etc.

21/05/2018 - Contracts Exchanged, Barclays request for funds

Requested a completion date of 25/05/2018 which everyone is in agreement with, just really hope Barclays can pull their finger out and transfer the money!

    “ Afternoon all :)

Might as well join you..been reading this thread regularly from sideline and thought would provide my update.

Partener & I are FTB with combined income above 110k. Excellent credit score but only one issue was that wife is 2 months into her maternity leave.Timeline is as follows:

Property value: £300k (Located in Glasgow)
    Mortgage requested- £261k
    Bank- TSB Plc
3/05/18- DIP approved and full mortgage application submitted to TSB via broker, text to confirm application received. All necessary documentation along with our pay slips, statement, wife's letter from employer confirming return to work date post maternity leave, proofs of deposits etc. uploaded at the time of application.

08/05/18 - Broker confirmed application has been approved, pending valuation (I was surprised with such a quick response considering there was weekend in between). No further docs needed

Then come the waiting game as there was no update between 8th May to 15th May.

15/05/18 -- requested broker to chase TSB's business development manager for an update. Found out TSB has not instructed any valuation due to IT issues. Broker forced them to manually instruct valuation.

    18/05/18- Valuation completed
21/05/18- Offer issued and documents received via email :T
SO from application to offer it took 12 working days, which I think could have been even less without TSB's IT glitch. in all good turnaround time.

    Many thanks :)
