If the valuation was only back on Friday, it's a bit of a hope that the offer was issued, posted and arrives with you one working day later.

Update: 22/01/14 - phone call from lender, previous proof accepted but need to send yet more proof because the printouts for a different account don't show something they needed to. Why they couldn't have said at the same time as the previous one I don't know. Another trip to bank and post office. Plus side - letter from estate agent confirming sale arrived, house up as Sold STC on rightmove.
23/01/14 - statements printed and stamped in branch, sent via post office.
24/01/14 - lender receives documents - pending approval. Hopefully wont be asked to send anything else now! Downside of having large deposit spread across multiple accounts and banks to maximise interest!
Really getting fed up now.
27/01/14 - yet more proof of deposit requested. At least this time they've given a list as opposed to just telling me one thing at a time. Bit sick of running to catch banks and post offices before closing time!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,0000 -

Waiting for the Woolwich to process all documentation0 -
FTB couple here - thought we would join in after all the help the forums have given us...
We're in Scotland so the process is a wee bit different up here than down south and we're making use of the Nationwide's Save to Buy account...
24/12/2014 - Decision in Principle from Nationwide. Last payslip requested (submitted and approved).
03/01/2014 – First (only) viewing.
03/01/2014 - Solicitor instructed - noted interest in property.
06/01/2014 – Offer made on the property - accepted verbally.
09/01/2014 - ID verification for solicitor completed.
17/01/2014 – Full application submitted in branch - no additional documentation requested at this stage...
17/01/2014 - Home Report /Valuation Report requested from surveyor.
20/01/2014 - "Valuation appointment" booked for 06:00 today - presume this simply means the report either requested or received as there are two "other documents received - awaiting approval" messages on my tracker.
20/01/2014 - MORTGAGE OFFER ISSUED - Text Message!
That means from full application to offer only took ONE DAY!
I honestly can't believe it!
27/01/2014 - Qualified acceptance finally received from vendor
27/01/2014 - Solicitor has a slight issue with mortgage offer in that it doesn't show my OH 3rd forename (second middle name)...Nationwide has it on their system so solicitor says this should not be a problem as long as Nationwide can confirm her full name.0 -

Just thought I'd share my timeline (so far) as I found these useful when I was waiting for mortgage decision!
As a bit of background we are FTB, and have saved up a 10% deposit using nationwide save to buy.
28/11/13 -first viewing of property.
29/11/13 - completed nationwide DIP online, accepted up to approx 20k more than we needed, phew.
30/11/13 - second, day time viewing of the property.
2/12/13 - first and second offer declined on property.
4/12/13 - offer accepted yay!!
11/12/13 - in person appointment at Nationwide, couldn't be submitted yet as our solicitor wasn't on their panel. Needed to sort solicitor out before it could be submitted.
12/12/13 - changed solicitors (to a nationwide one, included free with our chosen mortgage product), paid mortgage fee and APPLICATION SUBMITTED.
12/12/13 received text to say valuation was booked for 12/12/13 lol
16/12/13 - text and email to say valuation satisfactory.
17/12/13 - email from nationwide to say they need copies of our ID to proceed (these had not been taken because the mortgage advisor said we were ID checked when we opened the save to buy). My dad took the items straight to branch and submitted the items.
20/12/13 ANOTHER email to say that we needed our ID submitted. Phoned the branch to speak directly to our MA who checked and added the ID we had sent directly to our application (she had been off the days prior). She advised now that was done we would probably hear after the weekend.
20/12/13 10pm - text from nationwide to say mortgage was approved!!!!! Didnt expect it til after the weekend and certainly not to arrive at 10pm.
So from application submitted to approval it was 8 days, which potentially may have been less had it not been for the ID confusion.
Very happy with the service we got from nationwide, aside from when my dad submitted the ID and it appeared to go nowhere
Currently in the later stages of the legally stuff and due to move on 31st january.
Just an update here. Our solicitor had to inform nationwide that our deposit was partially gifted to us. Even though they already knew. A new mortgage offer arrived on 20/01/14 with seemingly nothing at all changed
Missives now concluded, were due to move on friday, although the seller decided to move the entry date with 7 days to go, right before the missives were concluded. With no valid reason given, apparently she told her solicitor she has had a baby... But she had the baby when we viewed in November so it's hardly news to her. Annoying because she wanted the moving date brought forward in the first place. Now moving on the 7th feb.0 -

Hi Kingstreet, I know it would be an impossible dream for it to only take one working day it was just a little bit of FTB humor/hope I suppose!
We are hoping to hear sometime this week realistically0 -
Well, we are back from our week's holiday now. We got the HomeBuyer's Report through on the day we went away and to be honest I don't really know what to make of it. There are a lot of 3's on it, which we were surprised about because it was a house we considered suitable to move into without needing any work doing.
We haven't said whether we want any further reports or surveys or anything carried out yet, but the vendors have asked via the estate agent if they can have a copy of our HomeBuyer's Report. Is this normal? It feels rude saying no, but then if they wanted one shouldn't they have paid for one themselves?0
