I paid £355 (funnily enough though, the Homebuyers survey that I booked for next week is only £225).

My hair turning grey day by day, I am well nervous , I don't like waiting:(

    Here my time line:

20/01/14 - Offer on property made and accepted - online mortgage application submitted and refereed to underwriters

20/01/14 @ 5pm call from Tesco Bank saying application is successful on the basis I send my wife payslip for January as it's her first month back to work after maternity leave.

21/01/14 - Valuation instructed by Tesco Bank

22/01/13 -call from countrywide surveyor confirming valuation booked for Friday 24/01/14

Waiting on result of the valuation. _pale_

Hey there. Thought I'd join in.

14/01/14 - Offer made and accepted - online mortgage application submitted.

15/01/14 - Proof of deposit + payslip posted. Valuation booked for 16th

16/01/14 - Valuation took place, satisfactory report.

17/01/14 - additional proof of deposit requested by lender. (Sold sign up)

18/01/14 - additional proof acquired from bank and sent. Solicitor forms arrived in post.

20/01/14 - Solicitor forms + certified ID posted

21/01/14 - Solicitor received forms + ID, all fine. £300 paid to solicitor for search fees etc. Further proof of deposit arrived with Lender waiting approval.

Update: 22/01/14 - phone call from lender, previous proof accepted but need to send yet more proof because the printouts for a different account don't show something they needed to. Why they couldn't have said at the same time as the previous one I don't know. Another trip to bank and post office. Plus side - letter from estate agent confirming sale arrived, house up as Sold STC on rightmove.

23/01/14 - statements printed and stamped in branch, sent via post office.

24/01/14 - lender receives documents - pending approval. Hopefully wont be asked to send anything else now! Downside of having large deposit spread across multiple accounts and banks to maximise interest!
    Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

    Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,000
  • Hi all,

I'm finally stepping into the wonderful world of mortgages with the help of a RTB

I put in my application with HSBC yesterday the decision was it needed to go to the underwriters.

I am bring all the requested documents to them today, they also said I need a valuation

Any ideas on how long all this takes, is this normal, does this mean I'm probably getting a yes.

Any helpful advise will be much appreciated
Starting this comping thing again wish me luck
